"How to Get a Raise This Week" contained much information I was surprised to find in a book of this type. I was expecting a motivational speech in book form, but that was not the case. The book provides some tips that will help anyone looking to ask for a raise. In addition, it really has great insight into why a supervisor or business owner may be reluctant or unable to fulfill the request. The author touches on some of the external reasons a raise in pay may just be out of the question without becoming bogged down in economic theory or political mudslinging.

The most interesting aspect of this book explains how you get a raise when your request is denied. It highlights some of the benefits and tax incentives associated with being a business owner yourself. The thought of starting a business can be very daunting, but the author illustrates how easy it can be and ways to start small to enjoy some of the benefits without overextending or quitting your current job. If I can use the advice in this book to take home more of my paycheck every week, it could be a huge benefit to my family.

I plan on spending much more time with this book to use the tools provided.
