Being new to motorcycles, I found this to be the perfect introductory book. I found the first 310 pages to be particularly helpful as that's where the real information is. After that is the appendix which is a buyer's guide to new bikes. It seems to me that this appendix will become outdated quickly as new models are made every year. Appendix B, a buyer's guide to used bikes, is too scant in information to be of any use. But there's so much useful information in the main part of the book that I decided to give the book a full 5-star rating.

The guide had a good deal of information that was broad and general in nature. My only dislike had nothing to do with the book; it was with the ebook version. There was a reference to a section at the rear of the book that mentioned pictures of different bike types. The e-book didn't have the pictures. I felt a little cheated & probably won't purchase another e-book because of this.

Good book with clear well-structured information. If you're already in the motorbike world this book will be perhaps to basic. If you've never had a bike before (like me) it gives you very good advice.

The spectre of topics is very broad, so don't spect the book to be very deep if you are interested in something particular.

Great information and not a dull boring read. I am a 65 year old lady who rides a bike now. I read this before I took the motorcycle class and had a pretty good idea of how to pass the class before I got to it. Most men would be interested in the sections on bikes but I skipped that part as I let my husband take care of the bike end of the deal.
