Bought this for my boyfriend for his birthday and he LOVED it. great cloth cover with modern illustrations throughout instructing the reader how to do pretty much everything you've been curious about. How to clean a cast iron pan, clean/shine silver, grow a plant from seed, saber a champagne bottle..it runs the gamut!

Some good stuff in here, but it's lacking some of the insight I was hoping for. I like the tie-ins to the items and products that are appropriate to the topic and task-at-hand. But the illustrations were amateurish, and much of this didn't give me much more to go on than an internet search for "how to ...". It looks great on the coffee table, and I am sure I will refer to it from time-to-time, but with a book like this I expect more substance. A good example of a book that does this well is the Dangerous Book for Boys by Conn and Hal Iggulden.
