I'm 25+ years from retirement, but I had heard about these co-authors' style and it's never too early to start thinking about or planning on this topic, especially in view of semi-recent economic events. So much on this topic can be scary or dry. This book, however, is story-filled, information-packed and an enjoyable and empowering read.

I hadn't really thought about it before, but especially enjoyed the "Leaving your legacy" chapter-- defining and acting on your values, gifts to your family and/or society, of time, money or being a role model - eye-opening, compassionate, very thought-full.

I highly recommend it for all boomers, but also for us GenX-ers who like to think ahead. I may pick up a few for holiday gifts.

I wish I had read this book before I retired, especially 'Navigating Retirement Robbers!' There is so much possibility in this stage of life as to make one giddy and unfocused.

The Reboot Partners offer us a descriptive and workable guide to make the most of the freedom and new abundance of time that come with retirement, and help to channel that time into fruitful vocation.

I REALLY loved this book even though I retired 8 years ago as I am ready for my next step and this book has helped me tremendously to walk down that road! I wished I had had it 8 years ago when I first retired. It feels like a peronal coach walking you through your own thoughts, emotions and possibilities. I have several friends who NEED this now so they are getting it for Christmas!

Apparently there are second acts in Americsn lives. The authors make the case (and provide a planning guide) for planning a modern retirement. It is most helpful for its comprehensive approach to rethinking old conventions. The least helpful are testimonial snippets used as punctuation to major themes in the book - they lose the impact (and novelty) after a couple of chapters. If you only read one book on your next act, this one might be it. But seeing that you will be living out that act for 30 or more years, it probably merits reading more than just one.
