I enjoy the English stories taking place around WW2. This was a good story and the first I have read by Pam Weaver and have already started another. Some of the English slang and money is hard to understand but not a big deal

I truly enjoyed this book, it was well written and I liked the characters. It's basically about two girls after the war, they both go to nursing school and when they first met and found out each other's family name, even though liking each other, became estranged until they met in nursing school and realized it was silly to keep up feuds that had nothing to do with them. It follows their life after the war and getting on in nursing school and on with their lives. It is such a great story, it keeps you glued to the book till the end. I am looking forward to reading more of Ms. Weaver's books.

What an interesting couldn't put down book. I really enjoyed it especially as I was a nurse just 10 years after the main character and found there was little change. Of course everything is a tad different now. The story is set during the second world war and there are many twists and turns in the book which makes you want to know how everything ends up. This is the first book I have read by this author but it will not be the last. Enjoy.

Another good read a few characters in it that I would have kicked into touch. I know from personel experience that when you do your nursing training there is always someone trying to undermine you and make you look incompetent.

When starting to read this book, found it very slow to get into, then the story line gave interest with characters starting to come alive.
Why I gave this book only 2 stars, the story line would get interesting then it seemed to faze out, some of the characters seemed limp, story lines not matching up, felt frustrated with the author because could see the potential of it being a very good read, but lacked spirit, depth of emotions and the ending seemed rushed, very disappointed read.
