As someone who has a bachelors degree in psychology, there's actually kind of an academic ambiguity surrounding "Forensic Psychology" that is unfortunately inaccurately informed by movies and pop culture. Outside of the academy I have been exposed to a lot of different books specifically on the topics of Criminal Psychology and Forensic Psychology, and I especially like this one for the following reasons.

* This book is an easy read. It is easily navigated and can be totally completed in two days (tops).

* Each Chapter ends with references that can be accessed for further, more comprehensive reading on any topic.

* The book is surprisingly thorough and will give the reader a basic operational knowledge of the topics listed.

* The research is accurate. I did a significant amount of research in university on stuff like eyewitness testimony, profiling, and pedophilia. There is a lot of stuff floating around out there on these topics, and what I have read in the book was very consistent with what I had encountered in my research (some of it was actually more informative).

Obviously it's part of the "Beginner's Guides" series, but I think it almost perfectly executes its function. One of the few 5 star ratings I have ever given - the thing is literally worth every penny if this is what you're looking for.

Good introduction to many concepts and thought provoking in regard to the strategies used. It is beneficial to observe the historical and cultural perspectives also. As a person new to the subject it was tailored perfectly for easy comprehension.

I found Criminal Psychology by Ray Bull an excellent book on the subject. Initially, I purchased it as a reference guide, and because I am studying criminal profiling. I read it through in one weekend!

My daughter is interested in forensic psychology. She's a gifted teen. She independently chose to read this book. She's really enjoying it. And she's 13 chronologically, but reads at a 30+ level. A sharp cookie. This book captured her interest immediately. Recommend.

Most definitely a beginners guide. But if that is what you are looking for, then it is great and I do recommend.

All generic information an hour and Google could provide. Shouldn't have purchased the "Buy these three and save" Amazon offered. Well done them for making the sell.

A very standard book with lots of information - though nothing that would exactly make anybody have a spectacular revelation or anything. Simply information
