Format: Paperback
I come to this book with my ongoing research into esotericism, more specifically in relation to the works of the Gnosticism of Samael Aun Weor and Gnostic Society, which includes 'The Lord's Prayer' in its syllabus of meditation. This work entails looking at where Samael Aun Weor got his information and his filtering process in relation to his final teachings, which he called the synthesis.

This book is put together by a number of talks that Rudolf Steiner gave; there is some degree of repetition.

In this book Rudolf Steiner tells us that his anthroposophy is the "science of the spirit", that this science studies "all things". He refers to Theosophy as a background for his esoteric knowledge. From Steiner we know that he left the Theosophical society due to reasons such as wanting to encapsulate greater research into other areas i.e. Art etc; also for disagreeing with the belief that Jiddu Krishnamurti was not Jesus Christ reincarnated and that Jesus had a once only incarnation, a special mission. I see that some have stated that H.P.Blavatsky was hostile towards Rudolf Steiner for his investigations into Christianity. This comes as no great surprise in light of H.P Blavatsky's love for lucifer.

While I applaud Steiner's investigation into Christianity, Steiner's 'The Lord's Prayer' shows that he wanted his cake and eat it too i.e. He wanted it both ways. This is a thing that a lot of esotericists, gnostics, occultists and spiritualists etc do i.e. they will point to Jesus as being the greatest, use Christs words, parables and sections of biblical teachings etc, but deny the major and essential tenets of Christendom.
