When Oz Clarke first came out with this annual pocket-size book, it served as a refreshing alternative to Hugh Johnson's standby. Clarke's writing was livelier and his taste at least as good. Now that Johnson's book is itself more sprightly, its country-by-country organization not only is more useable but it is considerably more complete in its listings. Still good to have both, but Johnson has become indispensible again.

As the title states, LOTS of good info, easy to read, small enough to carry around (in a backpack). I first bought the 2004 in Hong Kong and have kept up to date with every year since. I have found my best wines in my collection with this guide and will continue to do so.
