I reviewed this latest book from Eleanor at my local quilt shop. They were sold out except for the "desk" copy. This is definately in my "to be ordered today" list! Wonderful,colorful and easy to follow patterns.Awsome Quilt book!

Take this book for face value; you are receiving instructions and fabric amounts to complete ONE block. I followed this series on the QIAD programs and loved a referenced completed quilt with a cow fabric border. The quilt was compiled of only one block which was the Quatrefoil block whose block assembly was demonstrated on the program using the same fabric as in the referenced completed quilt. I found and purchased the same cow fabric for the border and was very surprised and disappointed to discover that this book only includes the pattern for one Quatrefoil block. After contacting QIAD and requesting the full quilt pattern, they refused to provide it to me. 5 stars to Amazon for taking this book back.

I am pleased with this book by Eleanor Burns. I have several of her books and each is written very well and can be used by all levels of quilters. I love 'barns' so this was my primary reason for purchasing, but all blocks are lovely.

I have seen several of Eleanor Burn's quilting shows (Quilt in a Day) on PBS where she provides instructions on making the American barns blocks featured in the book. I never fail to learn something new from her programs. Having the book helps me with the techniques and provides inspiration. In addition, the book contains some history related to the barns featured.

Eleanor Burns has created a wonderful barn book and many patterns to use in any quilt. I have made 3 of the blocks so far and am putting them into a "sampler' quilt of my own design. Every block has turned out very good. She explains the procedure well and has plenty of illustrations as you follow along each step. It is a 'keeper' and a good reference for other quilt projects.
