I've been in psychology for years and read about a billion self-help and parenting books. Nothing has come close to the perspective and knowledge shared in Real Love in Parenting. Real Love is the missing ingredient in most children's lives and this book outlines how to begin getting and giving the unconditional love we all need. Real Love in Parenting illuminated so much of my life as a child and as a parent that I had never seen before.

This book helped me a great deal and I think it could benefit anyone really. It really helps clarify how much our children (or anybody for that matter) need to feel truly loved and accepted. Also helped me to see common mistakes I was making that was sending my children the messages I did not want to be sending them. Quite an eye opener. I have also gone to the website and taken part in several of the services offered there. If you're thinking about this book, I'd encourage you to go ahead and read it!!

I cannot say enough good about the theory of loving your children and finding ways other than yelling and spanking to teach and inforce proper behavior. However, I do not like his writing style and at times (dispite his statment "don't feel guilty") I feel his message of "if you don't do it my way you will destroy your children forever" a bit overpowering.

That said, this book has truly changed my life and that of my 3 daughters as I have learned tools other than yelling and lecturing. It demonstrates tools that are actually effective and explanations as to why they are so.

I can not say enough for how grateful I am that this book came into my life.

This one has helped me to be a better dad, and consequently reinforced the practices in my marriage that have truly caused profound shifts in experience.
I highly recommend this book if you are serious about raising a family with a solid foundation of love.

This is an amazing simple--though not simple to do--statement of what unselfishly loving is all about. The child in me completely recognizes how true this is, and the parent in me sees the same, yet winces to hear how I have violated my own values and desire to unconditionally love my daughter. For those familiar with Real Love, this clarifies many issues; it is really a feast of insight.

I have facilitated Love and Logic parenting classes for a couple of years and, while I believe them to be an invaluable tool for helping families, I felt that something was missing. "Real Love in Parenting" fills in the missing link! By explaining the "why" of the negative behaviors we see in our kids (as well as ourselves and the rest of society!), this book gives insights that allow us to REALLY feel and display empathy for our kids' mistakes, which is so crucial to the Love and Logic model. I have seen a marked improvement in our family dynamics since I've implemented some of the strategies of this book. Along with "Parenting with Love and Logic," I highly recommend this book to every parent!

This book whacked me upside the head and gave me a path forward. There are tons of books out there for parents that sound great in theory, but somehow it all falls apart in practice. After trying many "techniques" and "methods", Greg Baer makes it clear, there is no technique or method, there is just genuine, transparent, unconditional, unselfish love.

I had often wondered why my daughter often misbehaves in many occasions. Now I understand after reading this book; it is really not much about her, but about ourselves. As parents, we have not learned to love our children unconditionally.

After reading this over and over, i finally understood the needs of children. Being angry and acting disappointed would actually harm the child. I did not know how impactful it has towards the relationship with our children.

My daughter is more behaved now. My wife and I feel much closer to our daughter. She has been taking more responsibility and feeling loved at the same time. Importantly, she knows how to express this to our people. She does not to need to seek attention or love from other because she already has this.

I would definitely recommend this book to all parents.
