Real Love for Wise Men and Women is, by far, the best book in the series because it breaks all the Real Love terms and techniques down to their most basic meaning and organizes them into a coherent structure that the other books lack. I would actually recommend this book to a beginner before I would recommend the original book, Real Love. While they're all fantastic, this one is by far the best.

A great sequel to Baer's other books. The reader should be made aware, however that it is best read after one has purchased some of his other books, at least his first book " Real Love." His concepts are difficult ones to use all the time, but will definitely make one a better person. He could benefit from a few new examples instead on using the ones from previouls books and by providing alot more information about how to find a cicle or Wise Men and Women for those of us still too shy to start our own group. Perhaps that will be the
premise of his next book. A great series, I've given his other books to my daughters. Wish I had read them decades ao

The author had basically well-intentioned and loving parents who just fell short of "real love" and unconditional acceptance. Not all of us are so lucky. The author evidences no real understanding of the issues faced by those who's physical integrity was violated and understanding that their parents were "doing their best" just isn't going to cut it. This book is a superficial approach that works for some people but the author presumes to apply it to all. It's limited by the 12 Step approach--which works for the specific goal of supplanting addiction by group dependance without necessarily getting to the root of the problem. For many of us, that approach will solve the issues we have. For others with deeper experiences of actual assault and abuse in their past, it's just not deep enough.
