I admit I was looking for more history and understanding of the foods of these countries and the cookbook falls a bit short on that. I actually got more from an episode of Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives when Guy Fieri went to a Bulgarian restaurant! That's what had me looking for information and cookbooks actually but I have yet to find one that does service to this cuisine.

Perhaps someone in the comments can recommend better cookbooks?

This is a much better book for recipes and interest.
It had great pictures. It had added history aobut
each country. The best or better choice than others
offered by Amazon for this area of the world.
