Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
Being in the middle of a Are You Experienced cover project with my band, this is the exact book I needed to learn about the context of Jimi's first album. To that respect I was not disappointed as the book gives quite an extensive account of Jimi's seminal 1966-67 British year. There is some good insight into what happened to him at that time. I am a bit disappointed by the writing, as it was not that great. Sources and testimonies could have been incorporated better to make the book a smoother read.

However, because of my particular interest, I did enjoy reading it and would recommend it to any Jimi fan. More than 40 years after his death, and considering how short his career was he still remains a fundamental influence for many rock guitarists.

I never get tired of this story....and, I actually found a few new pieces of information....something I never expected. I have read countless books and articles on jimi. This is a good one !
