THIS IS THE MOST CONVINCING AND WELL DOCUMENTED BOOK ON THE ORIGINS OF THE IRAQ WAR AND THE REASONS THE U. S. WILL LOSE IT. I HAVE READ DOZENS OF BOOKS ON THE TOPIC. I DISAGREE WITH THE AUTHOR ON OTHER MATTERS BUT THIS IS AN EXCELLENT WORK.

It demostrates that this war against Irak was as a first step to principaly control the middle east oil, and then as much of the world by the dominating forces in the US, the Industrial and Finance elite.

This book provides probably the best critical introduction to the Iraq war. It covers issues such as the privatization of Iraq, the U.S. counterinsurgency war, the surge, and the deterioration and eventual disintegration of the country formerly known as Iraq. Schwartz's insights shed much light on U.S. goals in Iraq, while not coming off as polemical or partisan. His analysis is accurate and empirical/based on strong evidence. I recommend this book strongly for all looking to learn about Iraq. I am currently using it for a course I'm teaching on Citizens and Governance.
