I have been pleased with both years of Telling God's Story. I plan on using year 3 as well. I appreciate the focus on the stories of Jesus in the context of their significance to the Old Testament. Peter Enns continually points out how each Gospel lesson makes reference to God's plan set forth in the OT. My children and I are learning how God fulfills OT prophesy. I feel like we are getting a broader understanding of how Jesus fulfills God's plan to redeem His creation. My children have been told and retold the OT stories so in Sunday school, in various history curriculum and in the children's Bibles we have read since birth. Now, we can focus on how the OT and NT weave together to bring about God's New Kingdom through Jesus Christ.

The lessons have been short. I started this when my oldest child was 8 and my youngest was 2. We read each week's lesson 3-4 times during the week and usually complete 1 activity covering the lesson on Fridays. Sometimes I will read versions from the children's Bible for my little people before reading the lesson from TGS. I have found that I can read the section "For the Parent on Mon, for the child on Wed and Fri. Also, I try to cover the teaching for whichever section of scripture (ie--there is a teaching on the Sermon on the Mount before you study 4 passages from the sermon)1 time each week to help the older children get a broader understanding of the context of the scripture passage being taught.

I like this curriculum and seems to be one of the few of its kind. The only other book like it is John Walton's book "The Bible Story Handbook." I highly recommend this book for reference as well but it is not a curriculum.
