From the title and description, I had high hopes for this book. However, it disappointed on several levels. Yes, it references several saints and beati, as well as miraculous events, but only in the slimmest of descriptions. Each mention is only a paragraph or two long and heavily laden with unnecessary descriptions and parenthetical remarks.

Here are two examples: In mentioning St. Hyacinth, the author states (He was probably also good at rolling with the punches, being named after a flower and all.) In a second example, she relates the story of St. Cecilia (in a chapter called "A Stiff-Necked Believer"). Here the author states, "To kill her the Romans locked her in the baths of her palace...for several days in order to suffocate her. Instead, she sang, which is why today she is known as the patron saint of music. Finally, an executioner was sent in to cut off her head. (I guess they'd had enough of her singing.)

These remarks which were evidentely meant to sound pithy, fell resolutely flat, and the book is laden with them, to the point of irritation. This book had a very light, and some may find, slightly irreverent tone.

I was hoping for an inspiring read, but unfortunately felt the material too "watered down" and insipid. It would better be suited for younger readers or those looking for a "comic book" edition.

Elizabeth never ceases to amaze me! This is another great book that opened my eyes to so many miraculous happenings. It is inspiring and gives me hope to know that miracles are alive and well in the 21st century. My kids, ages 12 and 14 are now enjoying this book, and I intend to use it next year in my Religious Ed classes for 9th graders!!

Enthralling, only something God could do. Impossible for human, but possible for God. This book tells the full truth about many miracles which have occurred during time. I'm 14 years old, and even if this would seem to be an adult book I was thoroughly captivated. Even though some of the parts mentioned in this book I already had acknowledged, it was all together a good Catholic reading book. Full of miracles, levitation, stigmata, visions, and so many others. We should have many more books like these explaining things in intricate details, outlining the many miracles God bestowed on this lovely earth.

J+M+J Thank you!

This book is probably more suited to younger readers. It covers some amazing miracles, but only in a paragraph or two, so there's not much detail.

This is a wonderful book about the mysteries of our Catholic faith. Some of the mysteries I know, many I did not. My teenage son and husband are going to read it next. It was very inspiring and I will recommend it to all my family and friends.
