As a eight-year H&R Block veteran I passed the first and third EA exams without much problem. However I don't have much experience with the material in the second exam so I saved that for last. For a little extra help I ordered this book, and I'm glad I did. It presented a lot of material in short chapters which were easy for me (perhaps a little ADD) to digest. Names of forms are in bold (always a few questions on those) and there are study questions at the end of each chapter. I did notice a few mistakes, but not worried about that. For the money it's a good investment and after reading it I now feel much more confident to pass the test.

I've already passed Part I and Part III of the SEE and am ready to tackle Part II. This book is well organized, the content is well written and way easier to understand than IRS pubs. The questions at the end of each chapter are written very much like questions on actual EA exams. It's a great value.

Great books, straight to the point, and very good examples for SEE preparations. I used all the 3 parts to prepare for the SEE and passed parts 1 and 3 on the first sitting and part 2 on the second sitting. I will recommend it to anybody who wants to pass the rigorous EA examination.

To the authors,

I recently purchased the 2012-2013 Individuals, Business, and Practice Exams books and was able to pass the Individual and the Business section of the EA exam. However, it is not something I would laud about. There are some things about the courses that I think are lacking and could be improved. Even though I was able to pass the EA exams, I didn' think the study material adequately prepared me for the Exam.

The pros:
The books were very written and the information in each chapters were very easy to understand. The examples were very helpful in understanding the material in each chapter.

The cons:
I was disappointed by the fact that the chapters regarding estates and gift taxes from both the Individual and Business books were very lacking. During the EA exam I've encountered mutltiple questions regarding estates and gift tax questions that I did not encounter before and did not know or even how to begin to solve the quesion.

Second, I felt that the exercise questions in the book were too straight forward and not challenging enough. It's not that it was a bad thing that it was too easy because it did help me to understand the chapters better. However, when taking the EA exams, the questions on the EA exam were far more challenging and much more difficult. Now I've also bought the book with he three sample tests to supplement my study but even that didn't really adequately prepare me for the EA exam.

My suggestions:
First, is to add to the chapters regarding estates and gift taxes as I reiterate that I have encountered quite a few number of questions regarding those topics.
Second, make the exercise questions more challenging. You don't necessarily have to take them out.
