My 6-year-old got this book for Christmas. She LOVES it! She pours over it constantly and is frequently announcing bits of information she gleaned from it. She adores it so much that I have been getting her other books that take the topics it touches and goes into then in more detail: germs, bugs, the digestive system (what makes poop so funny?!), etc. On every page there's some delightful bit of ickiness to squeal and exclaim over. (Just wait till she and her 6-year-old boy cousin get together!) She loved that it mentioned MythBusters at one point. If you have a kid that is curious about gross things, then this book is for you! The pictures are big and sharp and the text is interesting/informative. It says it's for grades 4-6 and I find that to be a bit old. My kid reads at a late 2nd or early 3rd grade level and it's just right for her. An upper-level elementary student might use this book as a source of information for an essay or report, but in my opinion the writing style is not as advanced as all that.

Super book for kids and adults! Wow! You learn some great things! My 9 year old loves it! Bought it for a research report she was doing and it was just packed with great colored pictures and interesting facts! I went back and bought another for my sister's son! He loves it too!

Micro Mania certainly makes learning fun. I gave this to my 9 year old granddaughter who absolutely loves it. It is so geared to the young and is facinating to the old. I am giving my 2 year old grandchildren this book also, as the information in it will not be different in their lifetime. The author definitely has a knack to keep the interest with humor and reality. I absolutely recommend this book for ALL ages.

MICRO MANIA is a wonderful, wonderful book. Congratulations on the fun writing and the great details that went into making this such a fine book not just for children, but for the child in all of us. I was thrilled to read the book and look at the images.

It was beautifully and humorously written . The artwork made it a special treasure. My friends who are research scientists were amazed at how well he could portray abstrac ideas and make them accessible to kids.

This amazing book zooms in on the tiny creatures that live right under - and in - our noses. They're all here: bloodsucking bedbugs that lurk until we fall asleep, fungi that thrive on a kitchen sponge, the over 500 kinds of bacteria that live in our mouths and many, many more. Filled with colorful photos and lots of "try this" activities, this book will be a favorite of any kid who's ever gleefully shouted "Ew!" The fact that it's obviously well-researched and includes so many fascinating facts makes it even more disgusting - in the best possible sense.
