With a thought-provoking plot and an interesting cast of characters, this medical mystery will keep you guessing until the end. The author’s decision to change the point of view from chapter to chapter makes it more difficult to read, but also adds dimension to the plot. It’s frightening to read about deception, power struggles, and unethical behavior in a hospital setting, but I guess if it can happen in other industries, it can happen in healthcare too. Good read.

Plan on reading this book straight through, because I found it almost impossible to stop reading until I finished it!

I was eagerly awaiting this 2nd book by Pamela Triolo, and I was not disappointed! This book continues to develop the w9onderful characters in her earlier novel "Death Without Cause", along with another swiftly moving plot. I found it both exciting and scary to see how the patients and nurses in the ICU showed some of the best and worst of human actions and feelings. The author is clearly extremely comfortable with the inner workings of hospitals and excellent nursing care, which makes the deaths that much more real and scary! In any case, I could not put it down, and give it 5 stars!

A great story that deals with a difficult topic of the way and where people want to die. This has been a difficult subject for many health care professionals. Additionally the author weaves in a content of intrigue which has the story picking up pace racing to the conclusion. Very entertaining and yet spell binding and educational.

When I put this book down, after five hours of total immersion, I tried to remember when was the last time I had read a book that was as enthralling, captivating, energizing, tantalizing, and educational. The answer came quickly. Never.

I hate reading a book (or seeing a movie) that reveals the author's (or director's) ignorance of her material. When reading a Triolo novel you instinctively feel she is a master of her game, as she is. That is why her work is so enthralling: you never find yourself questioning the credibility of the storyline. So if you've never been to Houston, then read this book. Triolo will transport you there. And if you've never been inside an intensive care unit, then read on, and Triolo will give you a guided tour. And if you don't have a living will and you don't know where to start, then this book will open your eyes.

I really enjoyed Triolo's first book. Her second effort takes storytelling to a new level. You will love The Impostor without having read the first book, Death Without Cause. But the smart thing is to get both books and enjoy the author's handicraft in full. Her work is very good on paper, better on a tablet, and could be even better on the silver screen.

I'm waiting!

Brilliant!

An incredibly suspenseful and intriguing medical mystery. Interesting, thought-provoking plot with great character development and a grabbing steady pace. Very few writers grip you in the first couple of lines, this one does, you will not want to put the book down. I love the writing style and will continue to read any book the author puts out and encourage everyone to do the same. Cannot wait to read the next one. Highly recommend this book

This book is so great! I'm in healthcare IT and am constantly trying to stay current in the healthcare IT industry. So for me, the best part about this book is the discussion about true issues in health and care and the culture in delivery of care. This is not always the focal point of the news I read - it brought me back to the roots of what matters most in healthcare - the patient and their rights. The discussion about end of life care really hit home when Pamela Triolo drew parallels to birth/labor and delivery - she discussed end of life care in a way I could understand.
I also love how Pamela entertains us through this discussion - the mystery and intrigue and of course the love story of Patrick and Santos...it keeps you reading until the very end! I cannot wait until the third book - to see what trouble the CCU unit, Patrick and Santos get in to, and what healthcare topic will be included. Thanks for enterTRaining us Pamela!

Pamela Triolo has once again put together a contmporary novel which involves real people in real life situaitons. It is clear this author researched, studied, and utilized her knowledge as a PhD nurse to provide a believable setting from which the story evolves. She creates a realistic plot and develops each of her characters so the reader is either drawn to them, is scared of them or hates them!

Triolo's descriptive phrases and developing plot keep the reader riveted and always aware that in the healthcare environment of today life and death concerns and especially 'end-of-life' patient needs loom large. At the same time adding romance to the setting adds some spice and creates hope where there seems to be so much sadness. She allows some of her characters to dig a hole, jump in and then figure out how to get out of that hole. Triolo keeps us in suspense. Even knowing the "good guys from the bad guys" doesn't prepare us for the ending.

Hopefully Triolo is busy on her next mystery as we are now "hooked' on this author and her compelling story telling abilities.
