Llevaba meses esperando por esta publicacion. Lei El Marciano originalmente en inglés e inmediatamente después tuve que sufrir en silencio al ser incapaz de compartir mi entusiasmo por esta novela con todos mis amigos y familiares monolingües.
Pero por fin esta aqui! Y ahora soy capaz de cumplir mi sueño frustrado de aventar este libro en la cara de toda persona que se me ponga enfrente. Ya NO hay excusas para no leerlo! Mwhahaha
Asi que todos detenganse, hagan un espacio en sus agendas, y ponganse a leer El Marciano

Although this novel is somehow another Robinson Crusoe of Mars tale, the accurate and believable tech support is absorving. I read this book since it was free to download and bought this edition for my wife who doesn't read English fluently. I won't review the book here, there are already too many good reviews to add anything. Suffice I've read it three times and enjoyed every one like it was the first. The translation sucks tho, specially since it was made in Spain and full of the slang ("argot") that is used there, and only there.

El marciano (The Martian) es el mejor libro que he leído este año, y tal vez en mucho tiempo.
Es una historia como ninguna, bueno, es una historia de un sujeto que se queda varado en Marte.
Y somos testigos de sus desventuras en el lejano planeta.
Pero eso es lo interesante, la lucha que tiene que llevar a cabo para poder sobrevivir y vencer un planeta entero.
La descripción de los procesos que debe llevar a cabo son un tanto técnicos, pero eso no limita disfrutar de la trama.
Es un libro muy bien escrito, se lee bastante rápido.
Los personajes están desarrollados de una forma maravillosa.
Los giros en la historia podrían parecer predecibles, pero no lo parecen.
Las situaciones en las que se encuentra el protagonista pueden ser bastante simples en la Tierra, pero al encontrarse en un planeta lejano, las cosas se ponen muy interesantes.
Es una historia recomendable para todo el mundo, no sólo para los fans de la ciencia ficción.
En definitiva, Andy Weir se ha vuelto uno de mis autores preferidos. Estaré a la espera de sus futuras novelas.

Fue agradable leer las aventuras de un ingeniero loco escritas por lo que se nota que también es un ingeniero loco, lleno de cálculos, resolución de problemas y cosas súper nerd creo que es más agradable con personas atraídas hacia ese tipo de cosas. Tiene partes muy entretenidas y partes que se hacen pesadas. El humor es muy bueno y tiene bastantes citas sobresalientes, sobre todo para los que nos enfocamos en problemas técnicos. Creo que no sería un buen libro para personas que no estén en ese campo. El final me pareció un poco abrupto, pudo haberse extendido más una parte tan importante y recortado otras que parecían desarrollo y no clímax como el final.
La traducción no es muy buena para los latinos, hay frases en las que tuve que pedir ayuda de nativos españoles para entenderlas, creo que fue un error no leerlo en inglés.

Fascinante para los afanes de tecnología. Me allegro de haberlo terminado antes de que salga la película. Según el libro, la pelicula con Matt Damon sera un gran éxito. Para qualquiera que quiera aprender palabras nuevas en español, le recomiendo este libro porque tiene una mezcla de tecnología, humor, y frases idiomáaticas.

Fascinating book, especially for fans of real technology, not space-fantasy. This is absolutely a true story in the near-future should an astronaut be stranded on Mars. I purchased it in Spanish to increase my knowledge of the language and I read it on my tablet. I highlighted words that I did not know and my next step will be to go back and look at each one and ensure that I learn them. Most I could figure out the meaning but I was at a loss to come up with the right words in English so it will be fun to do that. Enjoy this book in either language. It would be unfortunate to see the movie first, though, because there is no way to know how the story will end.

En este libro encontrará: Detalles técnicos y científicos respecto a equipos y procedimientos de una misión espacial a marte con la narración detallada de acciones llevadas a cabo por Mark Watney (protagonista) para sobrevivir en el planeta rojo, a la par en el planeta tierra luchan contra reloj para evitar la muerte de este "marciano" y rescatarlo, mientras tanto, sus compañeros de tripulación deberán decidir si regresar y ayudar a rescatar a Mark, a quien creían haber dejado abandonado a su suerte y muerto, o volver a casa con sus familias sin demora...
Una buena novela de Ciencia Ficción con sentido del humor pese a las situaciones que vive el personaje. Espero a ver el resultado de su adaptación en pantalla grande próximamente. Andy Weir sin duda un escritor de ciencia ficción contemporáneo. Recomendable.
