5.0 out of 5 stars Wickedly Funny, January 16, 2000
By wonderrat "wonderrat" (Mountain View, CA USA) - See all my reviews
Red Dawrf runs the gamut from thought provokingly funny to absolutely salacious, and this tape from Series 3 delivers. 'Backwards' is funny and we have often wondered what an alternative universe would be like, even if we don't want to stay there. In the case of Rimmer and Kryten, they do want to stay. Evey wondered how if would be liked to be trapped in a deserted place with your worst enemy with only a tin of dog food and a pot noodle for food? Then see 'Marooned' and find out a side of Rimmer which rarely exists (apart from him being Alexander the Great's chief eunuch in a past life). Lister comes off as a self-centered jerk in this one and not the decent person he is supposed to be. It's as if he took over the worst traits of Rimmer and the Cat. Perhaps he was a polymorph?

Which brings us to the last episode, titled aropriately 'Polymorph.' The best scene in 'Red Dwarf' is in this episode, involving a sausage kabob with a mind of its own and Kryten's groinal attachment-salacious and absolutely fun. Also the sight of Lister getting it on with Rimmer's mother- absolutely wicked and reeking of Oedipus Rex, but let's not get philisophical. Enjoy! And become a member of Rimmer's anti-polymorph society, although the acronym can't be mentioned here (another example of the Brits not being the staid, prudish people we think they are).

5.0 out of 5 stars This is so far the best I have seen., April 25, 1999
By A Customer
I have not seen many Red Dwarf episodes, yet, but these are the best! Backwards is a definate classic, the second, Lister and Rimmer crash land on planet. Shows the depths that people will go to in order to save themselves.... Polymorph is also great, with the characters acting a little differently than normall..... All three are great, and I highly recomend this tape!

5.0 out of 5 stars Another great tape full of Red Dwarf episodes., June 10, 2002
By hamilcar barca (nowheres in particular) - See all my reviews
Once again, Red Dwarf has tickled my funny bone. All three episodes on here are great.

"Backwards" - The crew end up back on Earth in the 20th century, but with time running backwards. Inventive plotline and lots of laughs.
"Marooned" - Lister and Rimmer are stranded together on an ice planet, where Lister must decide between his guitar, great works of literature and Rimmer's treasured camphorwood chest to be burned to keep warm. I think we know what wins.
"Polymorph" - The gang is terrorized by a shape-shifting mutant. Includes famous Kryten-Lister sex scene! (huh?)

5.0 out of 5 stars best science fiction comedy in awhile
The series Red Dwarf is a comedy in the vein of Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, but infused with a better sense of action, fun, and character. Read more
