Ok let me begin by saying that I only use fountain pens and I always buy rhodia notebooks which have great paper with no bleed through, I decided to give this Moleskine a try because I love the Hobbit theme look it has. I wrote on it with my pelikan M200 with a fine nib and noticed it bleeds through the paper like crazy, making the other side unusable. If you will be using a roller or ballpoint pen this makes a great sturdy notebook, it's just not for fountain pens. Kind of disappointing, one would imagine that with a price like that they would use higher quality paper....

First of all, it is pronounced "Mole skin." I heard a radio interview with the CEO of the company.

This is a great little notebook (the regular medium size), with good lines and quality. It is basically the regular, hard-backed Moleskine, but with a cooler cover. It is perfect for any fan of Tolkien, focusing on the book, rather than the films.

LOVE THIS COLOR COVER!!!!! Wish there were more in it...

I've had the Little Prince, Legos, Peanuts, Star Wars, etc., and found them all to be very good. But this Hobbit line is REALLY SPECIAL - perhaps because I like dragons??? The price is fair and no complaints at all because the paper is the same high-quality Moleskine, and there are plenty of pages. I have all models of the new Hobbit group - blank, lined, different sizes, etc. They all have different purposes in my life, and work so very well!

The notepad is beautiful and the paper is smooth to the touch... but is NOT for fountain pen users.
I wrote only one phrase and to my horrified eyes I saw how the ink bled and created a ghosting that made the paper look as if it were a napkin.

As Cecilia Maldonado said in her review, " it's just not for fountain pens"

I can't stop buying Moleskine note books and journals. But then why should I, Moleskines are well made from good materials and the price is reasonable plus the Hobbit embossing on the burgundy cover seals the deal.
