Leave it to the people at Hot Productions to release this fantastic collection of hits from Italy's female euro dance group Fun Fun. The songs are all the extended 12" remix versions which is an added bonus. Try finding these versions anywhere - you won't. Also you get a nine minute Fun Fun megamix which combines all the hits and is mixed wonderfully. Oh yeah, the quality of this cd is from the original master tapes so you'll be guaranteed the sounfd quality is top notch. Highly recommended.

This cd is one of my favorites!I have really enjoyed Fun Fun since hearing them in the late 80's.A lot of fans of the songs, "Color My Love" and "Happy Station" didn't know too much about the group. They started in 1983 with singers, Roberta, Natalie and Spagna. After the release of "Color My Love", Roberta left the group. Roberta can be seen in the video, "Papa Don't Preach" by Madonna. Spagna went on to do solo work and was replaced with Eleena. Spagna continued doing backing vocals in the songs, Give Me Your Love" and "Give Some Loving".Fun Fun's music is known world-wide. Their most popular crowd was from Japan. The Best of Fun Fun is full of fun and energy. this cd is one to get if you enjoy non-stop dance music.

Fun Fun are two extremely vacant looking Italian girls with the blandest singing voices you have ever heard. Still, this does not mean that this is a bad album! Imagine the vocal talents of Bananarama being backed by Italian Hi-NRG, and you should be about right. Actually a little research reveals that the vocals for these girls come from Europop diva Spagna, but unlike her solo hits from the 80's the Fun Fun sound is slightly different, with a style that sometimes comes closer to Bobby O. Song themes are based around the most harmless emotions of love and fun,, and although the lyrics are mindless, the harmonies are quite clever, with lots of little whispers and gasps being layered all over the place, and the production is spot on euro-dance, with lots of Moroder-style basslines and percussive bashing.

There is an issue with this CD though, in my copy (and I have bought two copies!), the song stated as being "Give Up Your Fight" is actually the megamix again, which means we have that one twice! Shoddy production there. The best two songs are "Give me Your Love" and "Colour My Love", as they have the best rhythm. I would have included "Happy Station", which is actually my absolute favourite, at the top of the list, but the version on this CD is the Scratch Mix rather than the normal extended version, and I find the Scratch Mix very irritating. Equally annoying is the fact that "Gimme Some Loving", "Could This Be Love" and "Give me Love" are the House remixes which sound absolutely dire and dated now. The only way to get the far superior original long version of "Could This Be Love" is to buy the second Fun Fun album ("Double Fun") but that's extremely rare now.

Fun Fun is one of the most interesting of the 1980s Italodisco artists. Perhaps one of the reasons is the fact that some of their music (like their 1st LP "Have Fun!) got released in the US , something that most European based dance artists at the time can only dream of.

Released over a dozen years ago, this is a great collection of the Italian duo covering their Hi-NRG & later House recordings. However info about the contexts & their length is misleading. So I'll give you a full overview of the 11 songs, their length, where's it's from & commentary.

Color My Love (7:44): 12" Release. Fun Fun's best known song.

Living in Japan (5:13): Version taken from LP "Have Fun!" Also appears on the 12" single as a track: This was the very first song I heard from Fun Fun a decade ago & is still my favorite song from them. The extended version (at nearly 8 minutes) is even better.

Give Me Your Love (7:47): 12" Release. Also found on "Have Fun!" The lyrics are about love for a DJ. Think of it as an Italodisco/Hi-NRG "Last Night a DJ Saved My Life"

Baila Bolero (9:28): 12" Release or Baila Dance Mix. Title says it all. Hi-NRG/Italodisco with a Latin/Spanish favor. The longest song on this collection & one that will keep you dancing for its nearly 9 1/2 minute length.

Happy Station: (5:57) Version from LP "Have Fun!" This is a hybrid of both the original version & the Ben Liebrand Scratch Mix.

Gimme Some Lovin' (7:17): 12" Mix. Only Fun Fun song I know of that's a cover song. (Original preformed by the Spencer Davis Group). This is the 1st. House recording on this collection.

Could This Be Love (8:19): 12" Mix. The 2nd. House song on the set.

Give Up Your Fight (7:04): The Boxer Mix from the B Side of "Mega Hit Mix.
