Realmente genial.Una catarsis de originalidad arrazó con todo lo previsto . Es un disco de mucha imaginacion compositiva,rico en arreglos , estilos y melodias.Prueba superada y con mucho paño para desplegar en la manga.

Este fue el primer album que escuche de Fito, lo recuerdo perfectamente. Lo que pense entonces es que habia perdido mucho tiempo: es un musico genial cuya obra pasara a la posteridad como la de uno de los maestros del Rock en Espannol.
Este album en particular cuenta con varios temas dignos de la categoria de clasicos del genero:
-El tema que abre el album es, ademas de contagioso, brillante! Su voz destroza cualquier idea preconcebida que puedas tener acerca de Fito.
-Un vestido y un amor: una historia de algo que te puede pasar a ti, y me puede pasar a mi -"yo no buscaba a nadie y te vi..."
-Tumbas de la Gloria: una cancion SALVAJE. Tiene muchisima fuerza. No te va a dejar en paz mas nunca!
-Brillante sobre el mic: con Charly... sin mas palabras. Pareciera que fuera un tema cantado por Roger Waters para Syd Barrett!
-A rodar la vida: un tema sobre la amistad y los recuerdos. Hermoso.
Te lo recomiendo altamente. Una joya de coleccion para tu discoteca de Rock en Espannol.

Paez es un músico en lo lírico, en lo músico, en la interpretación, en la inventiva. Sin duda Fito es uno de los mejores en Latinoamérica por la gran sensibilidad que permean sus temas.

Produced by Tweety Gonzalez and released on 1992, 'El amor despues del amor' is still an ageless classic. I remember listening to this album on cassette on my old walkman and remember liking every single song in it. This is without a doubt, Fito's more ambitious work until the recently released No Se Si Es Baires o Madrid. The album includes great collaborations before doing that was even a trend as it has become in recent years, it was not about selling discs to different fan bases, but to get together a group of great musicians to do a memorable album.

The album opens with the incredible hymn about love, 'El amor despues del amor' with chorus by Claudia Puyo, the song remains as one of his greatest hits until today. The next track is 'Dos dias en la vida', which features the collaboration of Celeste Carballo and Fabiana Cantilo, typical Paez lyrics retelling the story of Thelma & Louise. In 'Petalo de sal', a beautiful ballad, Fito is accompanied by none other than Luis Alberto Spinetta, the part of the song he sings is simply beautiful, great music and great lyrics on this one. 'Un vestido y un amor' was also featured for the first time in this album, another classic that has been covered by many artists from Andres Calamaro to Caetano Veloso (an artist Fito has always expressed admiration for)

'Tumbas de la gloria', the fist single I heard from this album and the one that got me into getting the cassette back in 92 is another highlight in the disc, pay attention to the end of the song, what seems to be Fito mumbling strange words is actually his voice recorded backwards listing deceased artists.Read more ›

Parece mentira que este disco haya sido originalmente editado hace casi 15 años, y en verdad que uno no se cansa nunca de escucharlo, y sin duda alguna esta fue la gran obra maestra de Fito, la que marcó un antes y un después en su carrera. Lo que realmente hace grandioso a este disco es la variedad estilística dentro de una unidad artística. Cada canción tiene su particular atractivo, y algunas logran momentos verdaderamente memorables, caso de "La rueda mágica", de lo mejor del disco, aunque es verdaderamente difícil decidir cuál es la mejor canción del disco entre tantas joyas. No se quedan atras "Creo", "Un vestido y un amor", "Tumbas de la Gloria", "A rodar mi vida", "Trafico por Katmandu", por nombrar solo algunas. Sin llegar a ser una canción mala ni mucho menos, de acuerdo con mi criterio, el punto mas flojo del disco quizás sea "La Balada de Donna Helena". Tambien es magico el momento "folklorico" del disco en "Detras del muro de los Lamentos". Sumado a todo esto una lista de artistas invitados de lujo: Charly García, Andrés Calamaro, Claudia Puyo, Mercedes Sosa y Fabiana Cantilo, entre otros. La calidad de la grabación es acorde a la altura del disco. En definitiva, una obra sobresaliente, que va a ser muy difícil que Fito pueda superar o igualar siquiera, de hecho ningun trabajo suyo posterior lo ha logrado. Una referencia casi obligatoria para quienes gustan del rock, o en general la canción en español.

This is the best CD of Fito IMHO.
There isn't much else to say. I like 3~4 tracks in each of his CDs that I got (4) but I like most of the songs from this album.
