5.0 out of 5 stars Every rich rapper and rap executive owes their life to Mr. Stanley Burrell aka MC Hammer, December 20, 2006
By The Specialist (Parts Unknown) - See all my reviews
It makes me sick to think that these so called hiphop purist dissed Hammer for going commercial in the early 90's. Everybody dissed Hammer from 3rd Bass to Tribe Called Quest to Ice Cube. Yeah, Mr. "Are We There Yet" Ice Cube. Hammer was not the best lyricist but he was and still is one of the best entertainers hiphop ever had. These dudes dissed and tore down Hammer then went even further than he did. Every rapper that has commercials, cartoons, label deals, merchandise all got it from Hammer because he did it first. The guys that break ground first are always the one that pay the price for everything that comes after it.

Peace to MC Hammer, 2 Big MC and Oaktown's 357 (Juicy still got me going crazy).

5.0 out of 5 stars Genius, January 25, 2005
This IS Hammer. I'm an old school Hammer fan, 2 Legit and Please Hammer Don't Hurt 'em are so weak compared to this lyrical assault by the baggy panted one. He is the toughness of Rakim meets the smoothness of Kool G Rap meets the edge of Donny Osmond. I remember getting a Hammer doll and having it fight my GI Joe figures when I was 19 living at home with my parents. I would seem like the Joe's would have the upper hand until Hammer would unleash a dance assault on the GI Joe airplanes since he was a foot taller than they were. He would say, "Turn this mutha out!!" and dance over the armies trying to fight him. There was this one time where I borrowed my sister's strawberry shortcake dolls and had hammer set their hair on fire with his dancing. It smelled like someone was baking a dang cake. Someone was and it was Hammer.

There was this other adventure where Hammer threw about three cabbage patch dolls in a freezer for three days. When he felt like it was time to let them out, he dropped them from Mt. Dancestep(a pile of blocks I had made) and their heads blew up. Some of my friends thought this was odd behavior for a 19 year old, but I was popular and didn't care.

5.0 out of 5 stars Oaktown's Best.., July 20, 2006
I have been looking for this cd for years. The stores do not carry this title and cannot order it because it is out-of-print!!!Listening to this cd took me back to 1988, dancing in front of the t.v., and those famous "hammer pants"! You can't find this cd anymore so grab as fast as you can!!
