Everyone who has posted bad reviews here has no common sense. If you read the manual that comes with it, it Clearly explains that games that are very highly detailed (such as Perfect Dark, and the Zelda games) require special keycodes to make the N64 boot up with the Gameshark. You'd have to be completly illiterate to not catch on to any of this.

Secondly, the Gameshark can do much much much more than just giving ypu infinate lives or infinate ammo. If you study the manual and follow the examples of how to use the built in code generator, you can actually do all sorts of things like making your own customizible weapons, or making enemies not be able to move while you are facing them. You can use a gameshark to make your character fly at the push of a button, or you can use it to load objects into a level that you wouldn't get in that level.

In Perfect Dark, I was able to make a grenade launcher that fires toilets.

In Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, I was able to make Link's bow fire 5 arrows at the same time, and have them explode on contact.

In Rainbow Six, I was able to give the hostages guns and let them shoot terrorists.

In Goldeneye, I was able to walk through the locked door in the facility multiplayer level and play multiplayer in the entire facility level!

In Command and Conquer, I was able to build both NOD and GDI units and structures without having an mcv.

You can do anything you want with one of these!

The point is, don't buy something and not know how to use it when you complain that it's broken. And what's even funnier about these guys that say their gameshark's broke, is that the only way to break one is to load in a keycode for a game you don't have.

Ok, this is pretty fun when you first buy it. You can moonjump in Zelda, get infinite ammo in Goldeneye, infinite energy in Mortal Kombat 4, etc. But be cautious. Mine broke one month after purchase. I didn't misuse it or abuse it, but the screen went black one day and stayed that way. You can send it back to Interact for an upgrade, but that's about all. Buy this at your own risk. And I recommend getting cheats off an OFFICIAL website when you use the Gameshark. Invalid codes can corrupt it forever.

If you're looking for fun or just a way to get by a level or hard part in a game this Gameshark Pro is the best out there! You can enter codes for games, You can create your own codes using the code creator, in some cases you can even edit your game (which may not be good!) This is the best piece of plastic I've seen! It helps your gameplay a lot on almost any game!

This is the best thing you can get to cheat on almost any games and you can even make your own cheat codes or find them in EGM or any other game magazines or even go online to ,gameshark.com, to find codes there and you may need to go there to check the current version thats out and if you own a gameshark PRO then upgrading is free but you have to mail it in.So any cheaters out there get this.

The gameshark is an excellent tool you can use to beat those games that are just too hard or mess around in games that you have already mastered. The gameshark comes with a lot of games and codes already in its memory, and you can always add more( the internet has TONS of codes). It is essential for anyone with an old and/or unbeatable game.
Now the bad news: the gameshark has a nasty tendency to erase your most precious save files and sometimes will mess up the graphics. It will sometimes also freeze games. Another problem is that a lot of newer games won't work with older gamesharks, so you are constantly forced to upgrade (spending hard-earned $$$). This is actually because Nintendo puts blocks into its cartridges so gamesharks won't work. Thus, Interact has to create newer versions to bypass the block (Nintendo does this to try to discourage you to buy gamesharks. They have hated cheat devices since the game genie on the NES).
Despite these setbacks the gameshark is a good product. The cheats range from the highly useful invincibility codes in many games to the nearly useless ability to get rid of the backgrounds in Goldeneye 007. All in all, a very useful product, despite its problems.

I highly recommend this game enhancer to any gamer like me. This is the best thing, especially with GoldenEye 007. A great feature for this Game Shark is the fact that you can add games to the game list, and also create your own codes to help beat games. This is an excellent price to buy this and is well worth it too! Buy this item RIGHT NOW!

If you have games like WWF no mercy or Zelda you will need GameShark pro. Note: you must have a 4MB Expansion pak to have the GameShark pro work. If you have a 4MB Expansion and the GameShark pro but you have trouble with it FREEZING then listen what I have to say: 1. turn off your Nintendo 64 system off. 2. unattach your GameShark pro from your game. 3. put your game back into the system and it will work. I have No mercy and I was always trying to figure out how to work the GameShark pro with it. I never knew how to put in codes so I checked out Gamecentral.com and found how to put the codes in and it worked. So REMEMEBER TO HAVE 4MB EXPANSION PAK AND A GAMESHARK PRO!
