Despite the rather pricy nature of this piece of molded plastic, I have chosen to use this product in my shop for more than 10 yrs now, about 15 hrs a week. I use it mostly for silicone caulking. It is extremely durable (been dropped many, many times), extremely light weight, easily varies the pressure, and has no clumsy plunger to interfere with movement. On the down side, it occasionally introduces air bubbles into caulking and causes it to spit air a few times while dispensing that tube. This is because it has no plunger and forces the material out of the tube with just air pressure. All in all a great product!

This gun has saved the day for me. I have used it to caulk a log house, both inside and outside. It still works like new after nearly 200 tubes of caulk, never once failing.
I found that a working pressure of 20 psi, is just right for the work I am doing.

I recently used this to install a radon / vapor barrier in a crawlspace. I used Sonolastic NP-1 caulk, which is incredibly think and hard to push with a hand pump gun. With a normal leverage hand gun, I had to use two hands to get it out. I considered buying a higher leverage gun, but then stumbled upon this device while searching for an easier way. I have to run it maxed out at 70psi for the sonolastic NP-1, and have so far fed over 30 tubes through it without a single problem or incident, save for the occasional air bubble pop that other reviews have mentioned. But those really were not any problem since I was not worried about the appearance of the bead for what I was doing, I just backed up slightly and made sure the bead was continuous. Also, since I was running pretty much full tubes at a time, I noticed something else impressive about this type of tool, it really only uses air when you release the trigger and it releases air pressure from the gun, the operating demands are actually very small. I could easily run through a full tube without releasing the trigger until it was empty, and at least half or more of the second tube before my small portable twin stack air compressor even kicked on to recharge. This is VERY low air consumption in constant operation. Very easy to operate off of just about any compressor you got. And made in the USA. What is not to like?

I bought one of these from Grainger. I lengthened the air hose using same size fuel hose, and had to put a needle valve in the air line on the gun for better control of air flow. With those changes the thing works great. Lays down an even bead. I use an add-on caulking tip with a 1/8 inch hole. With this gun I can lay a bead down that you can't see to cover baseboard-to-wall and door frame cracks. Different caulks will push out very differently so you need fine air pressure and flow control. I use about 5 psi air pressure and the needle valve open only a small amount to lay down Polyseamseal All-purpose caulk, which is quite soft. An on-unit air regulator and 10 ft hose sure would enhance it's ease of use. Taking all things into account, I'm glad I got it.

EDIT: Added 11/1/13. Two years after the above review I was building a new house for myself. Because of the control issue I discuss above, I opted to buy a Cox pneumatic caulk gun. In fact I bought two, one for 10 oz tubes and a big one for 1 qt tubes. Much better gun for quite a bit more money.

I bought this item last year, after we bought our new home, and I knew I would be painting the entire interior. A professional painter had suggested putting a fine bead of caulk around all the ceiling/wall seams in order to get a clean line when painting. OMG! I'm 58 years old and I knew my hand would fall off doing that much caulking with a regular gun. So, I researched and ended up buying the Caulk Master gun. It took a bit of experimenting and practice to get the pressure right and to get the opening on the tube small enough, but I did master it within a few tries. What a wonderful work saver! This thing works great for painter's caulk. I can lay down a perfect, fine bead with little effort. Yes, it does occasionally spit an air bubble when I get close to the end of the tube. Yes, the hose coupling is a bit of a pain. I just hold it with my left hand to keep it from swinging around. A longer hose would be nice. I have no idea how it works for thicker caulks/adhesives, but it is great for softer products. Somebody else said it was the Cat's Meow. Well I am adding the Cat's Pajamas to the superlatives.

Gotta agree with everyone else that this is a fantastic tool. Works really well. This was my first time using a powered caulk gun and I was able to immediately use it like a pro. Loaded a Liquid Nails sublfoor glue cartridge, dialed in about 25 psi, and laid a perfect 1/4" bead, very quickly. Didn't have to wait on the gun, and didn't blow my fingers out squeezing. A quality machine and for a great price.

Doing a complete remodel requires a lot of caulk. Well, this gun is the cat's meow. I can lay a tiny bead or a wide one and never have to worry about releasing the plunger and wasting caulk. I can almost guarantee you'll be able to caulk far more with this gun than any other hand-held caulking device. Try it- you'll like it.
