5.0 out of 5 stars Very good dino movie, August 29, 2001
By A Customer
"Jurassic Park" is the brilliant movie adopted from the best-selling book by Michael Crichton (and where the more or less equal sequels that were spawned from this).
Paleonlogists (Sam Neill, Laura Dern) are coerced into journeying with an ambitious enterpreneur Dr. John Hammond (John Hammond) and reluctant Ian (Jeff Goldblum) to visit his dinosaur park, with real dinosaurs cloned from preserved DNA. But, complications arise when fat traitor (Wayne Knight) switches off the security and phones off to retrieve samples of DNA to the owner of a rival who wants to make his own dinosaur land, not knowing that the dinosaurs break loose and wreck havoc.
So far, in my opinion, this is one of THE best dinosaur movies ever made. Really. The main and supporting cast are terrific and the movie doesn't feel like a cheap thrill ride, but with genuine suspense and harrowing escapes. The animatronics come to life superbly as the raptors, the tyrannosaurus and the other dinosaurs.
As far as I'm concerned, this movie should have won than just three Oscars for the technical stuff. Sam Neill and Laura Dern should have snagged the Best Actor and Actress awards and Spielberg should have the won the Best Director award (but he did win an Oscar for the historically accurate "Schindler's List"). Everything in the movie is creative, spellbinding, supenseful, and terrifying. The latter work on the two sequels prove less than superb, though.
Rated PG-13 for terror violence/gore and for language.

5.0 out of 5 stars Jurassic Park rules!, October 15, 2000
By A Customer
Steven Spielberg has done it again! I loved both Jurassic Parks and think it's awesome that their finally goning to be released together. I think that they are one of the best action movie series since the 007 movies. They are also in my opinion the best dinosaur movies ever. I can hardly wait for the 3rd one. Keep me watching, Spielberg!
