The Worst is classic Tech N9ne. This unfortunately titled sophomore album from the KC King carries a variety of sound, something Tech N9ne fans have gotten used to with newer albums like Something Else and Strangeulation. Unlike most modern albums though (aside from KOD), The Worst opens into the darkness. The feel of songs like Trauma and Planet Rock 2K bring an eerie feel through their production as well as through the lyrical composition of each verse, something that Tech was well known for in that time and helped build his reputation as a force to reckoned with against Brotha Lynch Hung in the Horrorcore game. However, in perfect Tech N9ne style, The Worst evolves into something beyond the horror genre as it progresses. The track 'I Didn't Lie' is rather reminiscent of soul and R&B music of that time, a reach out into the mainstream. That track grounds the otherwise creepy and horrorcore feel of The Worst and gives somewhat of an anchor into normalcy before returning to it's own version of normal with Mind of A Killer and the track "The Worst". Overall, The Worst comes with up and downs, Horrorcore and natural hip hop, creepy skits and classic Tecca Ninna. It is not a feel for all listeners, even for dedicated Technicians. But, if you're a fan of old Tech, you'll probably keep The Worst on repeat for some time.

I had purchased Tech's earlier album (an underground jewel) and was dying for this one. I preordered it... it got delayed.. it got delayed again. I finally got it once it was released.... Tech is definitely the best rapper in the game these days... he does all these crazy rap styles... he raps extremely fast, extremely slow, backwards, edits swears out and all these others techniques. If he got signed to a major label he'd be bigger than DMX, Jay Z or all the other top rappers. If you are even considering this CD: do so... Tech N9ne is the king of rap music.
This CD is a cohesive project and there is only 1 or 2 I didn't like.(One being a remix that didn't compare with the original.)

This CD is totally off the hook. I have yet to hear a song from Tech N9ne I have disliked, he is the best rap artist out there right now, and I don't believe there could ever be a rap artist that was better. If you like this CD, get all of Tech N9ne's CD, you will be pleased, I GUARANTEE IT!

Tecca Nina is the tightest rapper in the game today. The tightest thing about Tech N9ne is that he is still undergroung. He could be making it big on a differnet label, but he keeps it undergroung for the real hip hop junkes. The Worst has non-stop jams. There is not one song that I can hit the ship button when I listen to this CD. Don't pass these by. Keep it real.

After releasing one of the greatest albums in 1999 with "The Calm Before the Storm Volume 1," Tech N9ne became arguably Kansas City's most famous rapper. He didn't take long at all with his follow-up, "The Worst" which was released around a year later in 2000. Can Tech Ninna create that magic again?

Tech delivers another solid album but could have been better. Some of the tracks hooks lacked, they weren't totatlly wack but just not that attention grabbing. Some production on a couple tracks weren't top notch either but we're all still listenable and dope for the most part. But the biggest problem was Tech putting two useless tracks on here where there's someone singing for 3/4 of the song then him just spitting one verse at the end, Tech what were you thinking? Still a great album though, definitely check it out.
