Get a Reality Check, This ain't no Reality Check ;-D, April 6, 2000
When Reality Check first came out, I thought that these guys were fantastic. There music was unique in that it blended Christian themes with grunge, Rap, rock, and ballads. When I heard that they broke up, I was disappointed. When I heard that Nathan and Johnny were coming out with a new band, I was excited. I half expected to hear Reality Check without the rap. Boy, was I ever wrong. They went off on a totally different direction musically. To be honest, that slightly disappointed me and so on first listen, I was kind of negative to it. But I decided to give them a fair chance and bought the album and listened to it on a 4 hour drive. I LIKE IT! This is fresh, this is cool, this album rocks. Emotionally takes you from one extreme to another. Explores several issues well ( like idol worship, longing to be closer to God, forgivenenss, etc. ). Vocals are excellent. I can't say enough about this album. If you want something new and fresh, look no further. Jump on the Luna Halo train people!

The best Brit-Pop band from America!, April 28, 2000
Every once in a while you hear an album that not only gets your attention, but knocks you off your feet! Such is the case with Luna Halo's debut "Shimmer". If you like musical and lyrical depth in your bands, this is the one for you. "Shimmer", is a perfect blend of guitar driven rock, atmospheric pop melodies, and angelic orchestral arrangements that no doubt, will leave you wanting more. It's what would happen if members of Radiohead, U2, and Crowded House formed a band. Unbelievable musicianship can be heard on songs like "Complacent", and "Aliens", while near perfect songwriting is showcased on "Superman", and "Carry Me". Sonically, the album surrounds you while the lyrics speak to your heart, without getting "preachy". Nothing I can say in this review can do justice to the masterpiece that Luna Halo has delivered. The scary thing is...this is just their first try!

WOW-This CD ROCKS!, March 15, 2000
I can't believe how good this CD is. When I first listened to it I was amazed at how good EVERY SONG was! The band spent almost a year on this album and the xtra time was definitely worth it. This CD ranges from edgy rock to pop to spanish-type rock. Every song has a great hook to it and you will keep this in your player for weeks to come. If you liked Reality Check, you will absolutely love Luna Halo and their debut CD Shimmer.
