I purchased a solid 15 gal/5HP shop vac from lowes on black friday, the vaccume came with 1.25" hoses and attachments but had an inlet that would accept a 2.5" hose, not sure why it did not come with a 2.5" hose to begin with, the 1.25" hose was worthless for shop-vac tasks, clogged all the time. The 2.5" hose hardly ever clogs! to go along with this purchase I highly recommend the shop vac "bags" for picking up drywall dust, filters alone clog really quickly.

I bought my first Shop-Vac about 5 years ago and was very disappointed it came with such a small hose. The suction was very good, but the hose was constantly getting clogged. I use it primarily in my shop, and so pick up lots of little wood splinters. These would get hung-up in the hose catching up smaller items that would normally pass, and I found myself cleaning it out almost every use.

I found this kit, and the ratings and reviews looked good, so decided to give it a shot. I've only had it for about 2 months now, but I can't believe I didn't buy this years ago. My biggest concern was that the suction might be somewhat reduced due to the bigger diameter, but so far I haven't really noticed a difference. Even if it has, the fact that I've never had a clog yet easily makes up for it. The larger floor floor attachment also drastically cut down the time it took to get all the sawdust off the ground.

However, if I had to give a down-side, it might be that the larger hose is a bit more difficult to manage. It doesn't seem to be able to maneuver into some of the places as easily as the smaller hose could. I also liked the smaller crevice attachment for those very hard-to-reach places. I suppose there's a coupler I could get though, so I could use my old attachments.

I was able to find a great use for the old hose. My miter saw is permanently attached to my workbench, and hooking up the hose to it every time was kind of a chore. I took the old hose and permanently attached it, then routed the other end where I could easily get to it. Now I just need to unscrew the large hose and attach the old one when using the saw. Eventually I plan to make a homemade cyclone system, which I can use the hose to permanently attach to it.

We have a 4hp shopvac that came with the standard smaller 1.5 inch(?) hoses. The original hoses kept getting clogged easily so I wanted this kit to allow easier use. They have worked fine and I haven't noticed a downgrade in suction with the larger hoses. Nothing has gotten clogged. Very happy with purchase.

I bought a Shop Vac that only came with the 1 1/2" hose. It kept plugging up with debris. The vacuum accepts this bigger hose. Ace Hardware sells just the big hose for >$30. This kit comes with a slightly shorter hose but also the attachments and straight wand so you don't have to bend over to use them. I can use the Smaller diameter, longer hose the vacuum came with for the car interiors. This kit comes with attachments for the friction fit or screw on hose mounting systems. I think it's a good deal. Genuine Shop Vac too. I recommend it. Enjoy.

This is an excellent accessory kit. I upgraded to the 2.5" hose and attachments because my small hose would get clogged every easily. Now with the bigger hose nothing gets clogged anymore. I'm surprised at the increased amount of suction I'm getting with the bigger hose. You have to be careful not to suck up your tools because they will easily fit down the hose. If you have a powerful shop vac that is still using the 1 1/4" hose, you are missing out on a lot of power.

I like getting two extensions with this kit. You can put them together with a utility nozzle and vacuum without having to be bent over. It's also great that this comes with a hose. Most places charge more than this kit for just the hose alone. The crevice tool is big and doesn't get clogged. It still can fit into a lot of small spaces.

I found this on amazon after looking at my local stores for some 2.5" shop vac attachments. These accessories were about $9 plus tax each. The cheapest hose I found was $20 plus tax. This kit makes sense if your looking to upgrade to a 2.5" hose and Amazon has a good price on it.

Would have been great except the hose was missing a clamp... Seriously, why should I have to "assemble" a hose? And why can't they manage to get a whole three pieces in the box?!?

Unfortunately, I needed it desperately to deal with a water issue so I had to use gorilla glue to keep the hose ends on... Really, really poor product. Just go to the hardware store and buy one there.
