These work even better than expected and for cutting cable, they're much handier than a hacksaw or giving yourself arthritis with a set of lineman's pliers. High quality is consistent with Channellock's other products. My only complaint is that due to the same color handles, I can't tell it apart from my other same-brand tools when it's in the holsters in my tool bucket. I'd buy it again. Note- the package and the tool have a warning that it's not for cutting steel cable.

These are the best cutters for cutting copper and tin coated copper cable with out flatening out the wire. I cut cable up to .5" with these and I have to braze or micro weld them together and most cutters flaten out the wire making it very diffecult to get a good weld. These cutters have a special curved cutting edge and they cut from all sides. If you work in a wire mill and run the big cable; than these are the cutters for you!

As an electrician I own many tools, and Klein is my tool of choice. When looking for cable cutters I found that the Channellock 911's had a smaller (not as wide) head, but was able to cut the same size wire (copper and/or aluminum) as the Kleins. For $10-15 cheaper these are a good purchase. They also fit in my Vetopro Pak compartments better due to their design.

I would in the 12v audio world and we manufacturer heavy duty marine grade cable. I needed something to cut through 4 gauge and 0 gauge wire... and ordered these because Channellock makes some of the best hand tools!

These are no different... a great hand tool that does the job very well!

Keep in mind you do not use these for anything but stranded wire... this is not for cutting metal. So if you need to cut thick stranded wire then these bad boys is all that you need!

I've only used this tool twice, to cut off both ends of a heavy duty 120V 1PH extension cord (stranded core, 10 gauge, 3-wire). This cutter effortlessly sliced through the extension cord without any bending or blade dulling.

I almost exclusively use Channellock brand tools because they are built to last, and this cutter is a testament to Channellock's workmanship. The blades are perfectly machined and aligned with zero play in the hinge, yet the cutter swivels easily open and closed.

At 9.5 inches, this tool is a little on the large side for my line of work, but it cuts through copper like a knife through soft butter. Well worth the investment.

I've needed some wire cutters like this for a long time. Some of the wires I cut are just too big for my every day wire cutters. These snip through the thickest/stiffest wire I have to cut (I haven't cut anything over 6awg stranded and solid copper).

I can't believe I went for years without having a pair of these in my toolbox. I used to use a big set of cable cutters to cut 4 gauge wire, and they were clumsy and ridiculous for car stereo installation. These things work so great, it doesn't even make sense. They cut through 4 gauge copper cable like butter, and needless to say, slice through 10 gauge speaker wire with absolute precision. Having the right tools during an install makes all the difference in the world, and not only cuts down on time, cuts down on profanities yelled at random tools not doing their jobs properly!
