Haven't had a chance to use this a ton yet, but when I did use it, I was very impressed. We've been retrofitting out house's crawlspace with floor leveling screw jacks, which requires removal of the old 4x6 redwood blocks on each of our house's concrete piers. Our crawlspace ranges from about 18" - 30" so you don't have much room to operate. When I took this guy under the house and tried to start pulling 3" nails, it was like taking them out of soft butter. The claws could practically be inserted into these redwood blocks without hammering it in, they are so sharp! Even lying on my back and having to pull at very awkward angles, the nails would come out very easily. My older nail puller, I would pretty much have to pull with 2 hands with all my might and even had to try and hammer the side of it to get nails out. No more with this guy, left handed awkward angle, no problem, nails come right out. Great tool, it saves time and energy!

The previous owner of our house built this platform in the bedroom.

We wanted to take it down as honestly it was so annoying having two floor levels in the same room.. a big hazard for my toes. Anyway, he had made a solidly built platform and don't ask how many nails we had to pull out.

After doing a bit of research I saw many people recommended to get a nail puller - aka cats paw. At lowes we bought one but it didn't work out so well for us. We were having a hard time pulling out the nails and the more nails head broke then we managed to pull out.

I saw this on amazon and noticed it was longer and seemed more sturdy. So decided to give it a try. Wow, you hammer this under the nail head and it would start to lift the nail slight and we could pull it out. Made the job a lot more bearable to do.

PS and I am a girl so if i found it easy to use - any guy should find it a breeze :)

Rips out framing nails like you're picking them up out of a bucket. Breaks apart wood with ease. Super strong.

100% macho.

The only thing is - be sure you have somewhere to put this thing. It's 14 inches long so you'd better know where it's going in your belt.

This is the biggest Shark Corp Nail puller. I bought several more of the Shark Corp Prybar products including this model #21-2225, 10" length one based on a combo set (Shark Corp 58-9018 Fine Cut Saw and 8" Prybar Combo Pack) I purchased 6 months ago. Both the saw and pry bar are working fine.
Here is what I wrote about the 8 Inch Pry Bar in my review:
"The prybar is also a tool deserving high marks.
This is NOT a tool for power demolition, but it is well made tool for fine work - trim and nail pulling. This fits perfectly in a tool belt or Bucket Boss. It's so nice to introduce my son to excellent general purpose woodworking tools. And at a reasonable price!"
Each size has it's use, there was a lot of thought as to dimension and ergonomics for each pry bar. A simple, well made tool that makes a job easier! The difference between this bad boy is that it makes easy for removing many larger nails than it's little brother.
FINALLY & MOST IMPORTANTLY, USE & TEACH proper safety for ALL tools!
I'm VERY happy with my purchase of the Shark Corp 21-2036 14-1/8" Nail Puller!

These long cats paws are hard to find. Cant get them at Home Depot or Lowes. Some specialty stores carry them but not all. The fact that its a bakuma means that they wont break easily, last a long time (If you don't loose it) and are aggressive in pulling out buried sinkers and double head nails which some knuckle heads sometimes pound flush. Frequently asked where I got it. people who have tried it like it better than theirs. Delivery was as scheduled.

The cats paw was shown to me by my work partner. I never thought a tool like this could be so useful to a framer. You can pull out sixteen's, gun nails and, even finish nails. For the occasional stubborn nail a couple wacks with a hammer will fix the porblem. I don't start work without it, it slides easily in the rear belt loop of my bags. Smart/great investment

I had to dismantle an old deck and the tools I had were not up to pulling out the deeply imbedded nails. I got the nails started with this tool and then used a four foot wrecking bar to complete the task.

I absolutely loved this cat's paw for the 5 months it was intact. It was the best nail puller I've ever owned. Then, one day, I went to pull a galvanized 16d nail and one of the puller's two teeth popped off. I was shocked since this is a hefty tool. I was also really disappointed; it was a great tool, ruined. My coworker had the exact same thing happen to his smaller Shark puller. I have another brand of cat's paw that I've had for about 7 years and it's still going strong. While I liked the Shark better, the fact that it didn't last will probably stop me from buying another one.
