I've been hiking up my pants at the waist for decades, because belts never hold them up. The only suspenders I wore with any consistency other than the McGuire Nicholas suspenders were suspenders that were all stretchy (the only stretch material on the MN suspenders is on the back - which means the grandkids can't grab my suspenders from the front and snap me ;), and they were never comfortable. I'm 6' tall, big but I don't have a big gut, and the MN suspenders not only fit perfect (they're adjustable), they are so comfortable I easily forget I'm wearing suspenders. I can wear them kind of loosely and still have the result I desire - which is to keep my pants up so I'm not hiking them up every few minutes! Wearing them loosely means that they are never pulling at me, and this is the case whether I'm standing, sitting, or bending. They are heavy-duty - industrial strength - and they look it. They look like workman suspenders, as opposed to, say, lawyer suspenders (not that lawyers don't work; you know what I mean: manual labor), or suspenders that are more decorative than practical.

And I saw nothing remotely like them at my local WalMart in terms of quality. Just the clips alone, two in the front and two in the back, are "industrial strength," and none of the suspenders at my local WalMart had clips that were as large or appeared to be nearly as strong. (I haven't worn these with the same pair of jeans long enough to say how the teeth on the clips will wear on the fabric over time, and I've only worn these with jeans. If I'm wearing a shirt hanging out, which I typically do, I'll wear the suspenders under the outer shirt and over my undershirt.Read more ›

Bought these to use with a pair of rain pants. Draw string waste just did not cut it. These are light, wide so they are comfortable, and they WORK!! I am 6ft and 230 pounds and they had plenty of adjustment to fit me.

I bought these because the clips on my old suspenders broke, and I am very satisfied. These will probably never come loose...ever. The teeth stay on really tight and the straps are like, 2 inches wide. They are reminiscent of seatbelt straps in my opinion, aka they will never break. Good product.

I had been pretty happy with the purchase until the clips became loose, which are not readily adjustable. The grip seems to be optimized the way it's shipped. Moving the parts either way makes it worse, or perhaps it's just me. Anyway, the adjustment is not apparent. Now it only works on jeans at the belt loops.

Suggestions to the manufacturer:
1. Improve the clips so that it's easy to tighten the grip.
2. Add rubber pads to protect the fabric.
3. I would've chosen the beige color if it's offered so the belts wouldn't show through a shirt.

My husband does a lot of honeydos and these suspenders are great for holding up the britches with comfort. Not for a dressy type situation though. These are heavier and the clamps hang on well for all that bending, lifting, etc. Also, I don't think you can get any better quality in the more expensive suspenders.

That's right, I'll never wear a belt again when working in the yard. I can't believe I lived this long without knowing what suspenders can do for a fat man. These are super strong, the clasp is like a bear trap, the material I'm sure it is used at Nasa or in Nascar seat belts.

These suspenders have a nice design all except for one feature. They don't stretch. The front 2 straps are non-elastic, so they keep falling off your shoulders, and the rear 2 straps have no adjustability. I like to keep the 'X' up between my shoulder blades, but these one's stay towards your lower back, which makes them falling off your shoulders worse.

I would say skip these and look for a pair that's made from elastic, and has an adjustable 'X'.

First off almost every brand makes these cheap blk suspenders and just stamps a different name on the back probaly from the exact same factory in China . I paid $10 and you can find them @ Home Depot for the same price . The only real problem is theres no strap to clip in Horizontanally across your chest , which makes it some what easy for them to fall off and im a wide guy ! For the price , initially i was disapointed but ive grown to luv them , FOR THE PRICE , and the little bit of extra comfort .
