they are how they perform with the tubes. They seem to be fairly well made for general use, foremost being music education tools/instruments. It would be a good thing to have a heavier gauge version for adult drumming circles

The caps were a great addition to the Whacky Music Boomwhackers set. The caps change the tone and our grown kids took over the gift to our grandson so they could play tunes.

We had never heard of this product, took a chance as the description of the boomwhackers and enjoyed a different type of musical instrument.

Octavator makes tubes give not only the lower tone, but a cleaner tone - especially when bounced on the bottom.

Boomwhackers and octavers perform as they should. It is not a sharp clear tone from the tubes if that is what you're expecting, but you can definitely distinguish the notes even if you aren't musically inclined. It's not a bad sound by any means, just a different sound. It is more native or tribal sounding. Octavers do what they are described to do which is to lower any of the notes by one full octave, which is 12 notes. So if you have the "C" tube but want to play a lower "C", then just put one octaver cap on either end of the tube. Kids love it, but they're only plastic so they can be bent and warped easily.

The caps were the solution to make the whackers sound a bit clearer and avoid to get them easily broken because I told my kids to hit them to the floor with the caps on and that prevents them from breaking. Not only that, the caps I don't know why gave a better sound pitch, so now I can listen to them clearer. So if you didn't like completely the whackers as I did in my review, maybe the caps will help to make them sound better so I would definitely recommend them

You need these. The boomwhackers sound so much more resonant with these tubes. Do it. They are more expensive in the catalogues. Buy them here.

Must have if you use boomwackers. Young kids are more calm when pounding the boomwackers on the floor with these caps. They are less like to use more creative ways of using the boomwackers!

As a Suzuki piano teacher, I work with small children. Even though they're young, their repertoire is quite extensive. I wanted to have a set of low Boomwhackers so we could play the songs that need more than one octave, but the tubes in the bass set were MUCH too long for a 4- or 5 year old to use successfully. So I simply bought another set of C Major Diatonic tubes and put the Octavator caps on them. My students love them and are genuinely thrilled to be able to play all the songs in Book One on the Boomwhackers (I got the treble extension pack as well quite a while ago).
