Product Description

Product Description

Episode II, the sequel to Monster Rancher BattleCard, shares many of the same elements of its predecessor. The idea here is still to collect game cards and use them in "battles," where the cards represent attacks, defenses, and improvements to the player's skills. But this game has added a very interesting twist to the addictive trading-card-game genre. You can swap the Episode II disc out of your PlayStation console for virtually any other audio CD, CD-ROM, or even another PlayStation game to create new game cards that you can then save to a separately sold memory card and share with your friends.

In Episode II, players are off on a search for the indispensable monster assistant, Colt, who has vanished to the Paradise of Monsters. To find him, you'll have to battle your way through a series of islands to collect all the cards.

From the Manufacturer

Join Colt, Master Pabs, Cue and the entire Monster Rancher gang as they journey to magical islands to collect cool trading cards, practice their skills, and battle with the wacky, outrageous characters they meet along the way.

Characters include: Mocchi: Mocchi came from a CD-ROM. Unlike most monsters, Mocchi is playful, cute, innocent and likable. He's pudgy resembling a "Sakura Mocchi" which is a traditional Japanese cake. Much like Mocchi, this dessert is sweet! When fed well and cared for, Mocchi is very obedient and can easily be trained making the perfect companion on any journey.

Suezo: A giant eyeball monster that is known to be selfish and timid. He has a tendency to brag about his ability to 'hop' to great heights. However, despite his scary exterior, Suezo is very kind, sentimental and good-natured.

Tiger: A loner, Tiger keeps his feelings to himself, and he does not trust anyone or anything. He has stolen to survive in the past, and sees nothing wrong with doing it again. He can be a violent fighter, and is easily driven into a rage. His voice is very calm, very quiet, but with anger raging just under the surface. He can be insulting, and sarcastic, especially to Hare.

Hare: Smart and tricky, Hare devotes himself to creating effective strategies. He calculates everything and is very picky when spending money. However, he never places money before the lives of those he cares about.

Golem: A giant rock shaped monster that protects the grave of the disc, a monument in the Golem Forest. His rock solid structure is intimidating to many. However, due to his quiet nature he is very gentle and kind. His appetite is rather large but does not pose a threat to others. His favorite meal consists of large rocks, which add to his physical stature. His favorite drink is a 32-oz glass of sand that he finds in the Golem Forest.

4.0 out of 5 stars Monster Rancher: Battlecard episode II, October 12, 2000
I think this title is a change from the original titles. I got it today 10/12/00 and it is quite well. I am a fan of monster rancher that might be why I like it. Well I had second thoughts of getting it but it was better than what I thought! (I like to say thought alot!). Alot better, and my best creature right now is a naga. Animation is also very cool.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great game., December 24, 2001
I bought this game the week it came out. I was soo thrilled. There's Master Pabs(From MR2)! There's colt(from MR2)! and... hey! Colt dissapeared! That is what I thought when I first played this game. Don't get me wrong it's a good game. I loved this game, and I think it is one everyone should play. The only thing I didn't like was that the card battles are way too long. Heck, for tournaments, I have spent 3 hours when battling 4 people! But, I think everyone should play it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Continuation of the Gamboy Game, March 2, 2002
By Robbway "Robb" (Forest Hill, MD USA) - See all my reviews
I have the first Episode on the Gameboy. The Episode II gets rid of the Dungeon Crawl and returns to the gameplay from the Monster Rancher game. Instead of raising monsters, you collect cards. The tornaments and the passage of time are exactly like the first Monster Rancher game. Plus, you can insert CDs to collect rare and random cards, just like the Monster Rancher. The attacks are animated like the cartoon show, and the strategy requires very tight control of resources. Graphics are phenominal on a big screen TV.
