I continue to be enthralled by this CD because of its renditions of Charles Wesley hymns, especially, and I have bought a second copy to be sent to a friend who leads a church choir. It is amazing work!

I found the new piece written by Mark O'Connor to be a wonderful sound that stirred the American Pride in me. I also found the pieces arranged by Alice Parker to be sung with excitement and accuracy- qualities lacking in most choral groups today
I highly recommend this recording.

Format: Audio CD Verified Purchase
You have to hear it. This is a masterpiece and its one of my favorite CDs. It comes with a booklet of the words to the songs in the cd case and you will want that the first time you listen to it. This is something to listen to, not just put in and then concentrate on something else while this is in the background.

I found this CD while looking in Mark O'Conner's music. I like Appalachian music and have several other CD where he performs this music genre. When I began listening to the CD, I found that I had not paid enough attention about it as there was very little O'Conner or any other instrumental music with the choir. However, I did find that the Gloriae Dei Cantores is an exceptional choir and most enjoyable. There are hints of shaped note singing in some pieces and I truly enjoy this nearly lost art. Not what I expected - but a nice surprise and I shall be listening to it quite a bit.
