Comprehensive Classical Selection

I searched all over for a CD set that had a somewhat comprehensive list of classical selections that are traditionally played at weddings. When I found this 3 CD set, I was very pleased. It contains 61 works from almost as many composers. This set might not contain the "best recording ever" of each of the selections, however it is very well done and the quality is very good. I used it primarily to choose the pieces that I wanted to have played by the church organist, and so the actual recordings were more for my consumption rather than for use in the ceremony/reception itself. However, I would not have hestitated to use the CD's in the wedding itself if needed. The book inside includes a list of suggested songs for various wedding styles (formal, outside, morning, etc.). From the classical neophyte to the seasoned classical music expert, this CD set will meet if not exceed expectations.

A very complete selection of ceremony music!

I am getting married in several months and we couldn't decide what music we wanted at our wedding ceremony. This three disk compilation reminded us of all the great ones- including new options we hadn't thought about. I really enjoyed hearing the organ and strings versions of the songs. If you're someone who hears a classical or baroque piece of music, but can't remember the name or the precise tune, this is a must-have to jog your memory and trigger the tear ducts!

A must have in your music library

I had ordered this cd on the recommendation of the musical director from my Church who has quite an extensive international background. I mistakenly thought I would just use it to pick out songs for the ceremony portion of my wedding. It turns out it has so many classical songs from Bach and many other artists. I listen to it often because the music is so beautiful.

I recommend it to anyone who likes classical music or would like a sampler of some of the great composers and artists. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

More than Wedding Music

This CD is a wonderful selection of music, beautifully performed. It might have broader circulation if buyers realized it is much more than just wedding music.
I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys listening to classical music.

Must Have (Really)

Music is so important in creating the atmosphere of any gathering. Our wedding ceremony represented the most important gathering we would ever assemble, and several CD collections were therefore purchased. Only one provided excellent sound quality, moods from sedate to joyous and a range of instrumentation that allowed us to choose from deep cathedral organs to lilting lute. A gorgeous collection that also includes a generous enclosure full of suggestions for arranging your ceremony to suit your personalities, etiquette tips and even well thought out programs for the undecided which relate to venue. I chose the suggested program for "Seaside" for our vineyard wedding. It was so lovely that even the guests commented on the music, and congratulated us on "Our" choices. The DJ liked the ease of play, sound quality and included programs so much that I gave this set to him. This is my replacement order. There are standards here, but most were new to me, and incredibly suitable and lovely. The sound quality is fabulous- the deep chords on the organ pieces rumble, and you can hear flute players slightly inhale between extended notes. In short, I would most highly recommend this to anyone working with celebratory ceremonies.

perfect music for your wedding

I bought this cd set for our wedding. It is wonderful because it is broken into 3 cds. The 1st cd has songs for the prelude, the 2nd cd has songs for the processional and interlude, the 3rd has songs for the recessional and postlude. It was perfect. We chose Pachabel's Canon in D for our Processional and Offenbach's Barcarolle for our Recessional. You will love this cd set.

Great wedding music

I have been looking for an album that not only suggest good music but has the pieces played by the correct instruments in a professional manner. This album is excellent in both ways. I have listened to it man times and been able to make good decisions about the music for my wedding. The enclosed booklet suggests various combinations of music for different wedding settings. Vey helpful! I highly recommend it.
