A powerful tool for helping your floors stay clean, May 6, 2007
When I saw the price for this vacuum, I was skeptical that it would be good, but was willing to try it. Its powerful suction took me by surprise. In my home, we use it only for dry vacuuming. We vacuum our floors prior to mopping. I have also used the crevice tools to clean drawers, corners, and tough to reach spaces, like the tracks of sliding glass doors or hard to reach crevices of my car's interior. The vacuum is excellent. I highly recommend it. Approximately twice a year, it is necessary to wash the filters. Once the filters are clean, the machine operates like new. I purchased a second set of filters, so that I can use the vacuum right away while the first set of filters is being washed.
The only thing that I would re-design in this machine is the size of the opening into the vacuum "bag". The hose is 'L Shaped' when it enters the canister. This creates a problem if you are vacuuming larger items, like packing peanuts, etc. If such items are picked up by the vacuum, they will get stuck prior to entering the canister/vacuum bag, and will create a blockage inside the hose. You simply have to shut off the vacuum, remove the hose, dislodge the items that are blocking the entry to the canister, re-install the hose and then its up and running with great suction again. In our home we describe this vacuum as The Robot, because it reminds us of R2-D2 from Star Wars.

Worth replacing with same item!, January 26, 2009
I bought this little wonder to clean up during & after glass etching in a basement as well as keep down pet hair & cat litter in the kitchen. I needed something I could rely on that wasn't going to be "forgiving" with stray, loose & potentially dangerous/painful debris but I didn't want it to need a lot of space to live in and it couldn't be over $60. (It was $49.99 when I bought it).
It's been amazing & I've had it for years & used it as a wet vac, too when my studio apartment flooded (my fault, lol).
The canister is big enough not to have to empty for a few months (I use it every day) & by the time you do, it doesn't weigh a million pounds & cleaning it out, say with some OxyClean, it's small enough to do in the tub. And yes, I've used the body/bottom part of it as a wheeled bucket before, too; which also makes it light enough to pick up if you have to stand on a chair to hit the ceiling fan blades or curtains with the detail brushes included.
Perhaps most worth noting is the motor- 7.0 amps/3 HP is wicked effective, and with the brushes, it takes cat hair off of velvet bedskirts without the fear you're going to damage them.
Honestly, I'd been using it like a shop vac without a bag in it & the filter came loose & burnt out the motor. BTW, I'm reviewing it here because at the time of this review, this merchant has the lowest total price.
If you're thinking about it, I think you'll be happy with your purchase. That's why I'm getting a second one.

Great Little Man, April 3, 2009
If you're looking for a small Shop Vac, this is the one. For some reason, in my mind's eye, I thought this would be bigger. It's powerful for its volume capacity. It's cute and easy to maneuver around.
