This ringer was just the right device for my two-car garage/workshop. I thought it might actually be too loud, but even at full volume it is not so loud that it startles me when it rings. Then again, the ring volume is adjustable so I could always tone it down some if necessary. Since I frequently use power tools in my shop, the LED that flashes with the ring certainly comes in handy. My only complaint is that the LED is not very noticeable unless you happen to be looking in the ringer's direction when a call comes in. To compensate for this minor drawback, I mounted the ringer where I can easily see it while using the radial arm saw, the loudest tool in my shop. Installation was easy, and with the second phone jack, is only made since to mount a wall phone right next to the ringer. For general purpose home use, this ringer will do the job nicely. It would not be a good choice for a large area where hearing protection is required due to a constant high level of noise.

My dad, age 90, was having trouble hearing the phone ringer. I installed this for him about 8 months ago, and it works GREAT. Now he always answers his phone. It is plenty loud enough for him to hear, without being obnoxious.
