It auto-negotiates to the highest possible speed up to 54 Mbps and has a throughput up to five times faster than 802.11b, which means the Pro/Wireless 5000 LAN Access Point has to trouble handling large graphics, audio, data, and video files without sacrificing performance.

With the Pro/Wireless 5000 LAN Access Point, the setup is easy. You can simply expand your network by adding more 802.11a adapters and access points (up to 64 users per access point). Given that the range of 802.11a is not that great this Access Point can not be hidden away in a closest. This Access Point has a fan. The fan is very loud and annoying. The Access Point does look good. I think they were going for form over function. Much of the Access Point is hollow so that allows the fan to resonate. The thing is like a big speaker.
