These are WAY BETTER than Thailand rubber bands. These #16 stretch to 13 inches, and they don't break. Thai rubber bands, available in office supply stores and Amazon, only stretch to 8 inches. I am not picking on Thailand -- just saying there is a significantly difference. We use rubber bands in a commercial product and use thousands. Cheap rubber bands have a very high break ratio -- 20%. The broken bands land on the floor, end up in a customer product, or hit you in the face. For a few micro-cents more, why not buy a decent product? Would you buy paperclips where 20% were defective? I have no alliance with Alliance ... I just appreciate a quality product.

I researched rubber bands and found that the Pale Crepe Gold rubber bands are the best on the market and at $11-12 are a deal. These are your typical rubber band but also bought the 1/4 inch width Alliance Pale Crepe Gold Size #64 (3 1/2 x 1/4 Inches) Premium Rubber Band , 1 Pound Box (Approximately 490 Bands per Pound) (20645) for jobs needing more strength. Would recommend.

These are excellent rubber bands. They work great on file folders, even very fat ones, but I use them just as often in the kitchen and pantry. They are better than 'chip clips' for closing bags of snacks, and I also use them on cereal bags, rice, legumes, sugar, flour... pretty much anything that comes in a bag that you want to keep air out of until the next use. Because these are very long rubber bands, they can be doubled or tripled to make them the perfect size no matter what you are using them on, so instead of needing to keep several sizes of rubber bands, you can just use the one size for everything. Can be re-used over and over again. They have a nice, high rubber content, which makes them extra stretchy and flexible, and also gives them a longer life so they do not get brittle like the type with a lower rubber content.

I know a pound of rubber bands seems like a lot (and it is), however, I find so many uses for these super handy rubber bands that I go through a box every few years. Recently, I was reattaching the loose edges of an expensive wool felt clog. The glue I used said it needed to be clamped, but that was difficult given the size and shape. Crepe rubber bands to the rescue! I used several wrapped around the clog at strategic points to hold everything secure. Worked like a charm. You will end up using them for things you have not even imagined yet.

Not sure how much you can talk about a simple rubber band...these measure as stated, are strong, and you get a lot for the price. I use these to attach my wings on a few model airplanes I own and they've yet to let me down.

The crepe rubber bands look well formed and uniform. I think they will last a long time, as rubber bands go. Small problem - broken pieces of rubber bands, maybe amounting to 5-7 complete bands, were in my bag/box. Maybe this is normal, when buying rubber bands in bulk.
