They're just scratch pads, after all, but these are exactly what's needed and getting more difficult to find all the time. No clumsy spiral binding that leaves a tattered edge on your note or perforated edge that never tears off neatly. Each page tears cleanly away from the lightly-gummed edge of the notepad. And the paper is recycled (nice touch) yet ink pen doesn't skip at all as with some recycled papers. All in all, these scratch pads are exactly what I want: a small but very dependable addition to everyday life. Thanks to Amazon for carrying these at a reasonable price and for the fast delivery each time I've ordered them.

I need this exact size for a pad holder on my desktop, so I was very pleased to find it for a great price. Yes, these are thin paper, and the fiber is more coarse than I would prefer. But they are scratch pads, not stationery. So I give them four stars.

I tested it with ...
a pencil (works great, as you would expect),
a ball point pen (works great, with no bleeding),
a medium-tip gel pen (works well, but a bit of bleeding in the letters, so they aren't as sharp as on my Moleskine or other harder surfaces),
and a medium-tip fountain pen (only marginally acceptable--the letters bleed (but not so much that you can't read them), and there are faint bits of spotting on the following page(but not so much that you couldn't use it))

So depending on your needs, these may work just fine for you. Just don't expect to use them for your wedding thank you notes.

I knew it was recycled paper and everything, but this seemed like the recycled paper I used as a kid. You know the kind that tore when you used an eraser on it. And the glue that holds the paper onto the pad is really flimsy, so the cardboard comes off almost immediately. I needed this size to fill a crayon lap desk for my daughter, but these are a huge disappointment.

I just wanted to let folks know that this is the 3rd pack that I've ordered and I love these. I use 10 -15 sheets of paper a day and write with a Mont Blanc pen and these are flawless. The gum holds the sheets together great, the paper is easy to write on and doesn't smudge and I'm doing my part by buying recycled paper. If you need a notepad on your desk to write notes on, these are the bomb.

Can't get them anywhere else but Amazon. I could re-adapt to another size or type scratch pad, but I've been using this size since close to the beginning of time. The paper in these is cruder than in previous purchase from stationary stores, which no longer carrty them. But since the sheets are disposable whether or not they are the very best paper doesn't matter.

This paper is too thin for use as a scratch pad. Any marks made indent two or three sheets below and the edges curl up as the paper is used. About the same consistency as onion skin or tracing paper. This is a complete waste of money as note paper and I regret having purchased it.

Love these papers I keep one on my desk at all times.

It can be quite hard to find unruled scratch paper, especially in this size.

The sheets are thin. A bit thicker than receipt paper. They definitely wouldn't make a great letter writing stock, but for sitting on the desk for quick notes they are awesome.

I also fold them in half or quarters to make shopping and to do lists.

I've gone through 1.5 packs of these since I discovered them ~1 year ago. For perspective, I write about 25 notes a day on these.

If your local office supply store is out of blank paper pads and you buy this product, you'll be as surprised and disappointed as I was. I opened the pack and saw news rag quality paper more a gray tone with black and brown spots than white - AND EVERY PAD had many pages creased or folded making those pages and the ones above them in the stack unusable. Even the pad edge cuts are varied, not straight edges. For an American made product, this one's NOT worth the asking price. On the other hand, one must always look for the upside. I think these pads will make convenient, albeit expensive camp fire starting material.....
