These happen to be great pens. They're very comfortable to write with, the ink doesn't smudge or fade, and they write quite smoothly. In fact, I've never used a disposable pen that writes this smoothly and effortlessly. Also, it's worth noting that I've been buying these in bulk for nearly 2 years now, and I've never had a single pen leak or "explode".

Edit: By the way, I personally find the uni-ball Roller Grip Fine Point Roller Ball Pens with blue ink to be better than the black ink versions uni-ball Roller Grip Fine Point Roller Ball Pens, 12 Black Ink Pens(60708). To clarify, the black ink version of the pen isn't bad. In my opinion, it just doesn't write as smoothly and effortlessly as the blue ink version.

This is my most favorite pen for all my business needs. In blue for signing documents, a very comfortable grasp, good and smooth ink delivery, and a great writng tool. I carry one in each jacket I own and spread around to my many desks and work areas. Go ahead, pay a lot for a fancy pen in a box that doesn't work very well or for very long. This pen comes in a box of a dozen at a reasonable price. Staples used to carry these by the dozen but stopped doing so for whatever ill informed reasoning, but I don't care since Amazon follows through where Staples failed me. Yeah Amazon!!

I am left handed and I write such that I drag my hand across the page from left to right and smear whatever I just wrote, so most pens do not work for me. Plus I am not a blue pen person.

Somehow I ended up with one of these and recently found it in a drawer in my desk. I tried it and loved it. Hmmm... two things: it was not black and I still loved it, and the ink did not smear. A few days later, I was at my mom's and she had one of these. I tried hers and loved that one, too, especially since the one I found in my drawer was a little old and perhaps the ink was not flowing so well any more. Hers was newer so it wrote beautifully.

Still preferring black ink, I read the reviews for these pens because I was still thinking I'd get black. A few reviewers said the black is just not as smooth as the blue. I broke down and just went for it. Ordered blue 0.7 and OMG! Love this pen.

THE PROS:
It writes so smoothly.
It does not smear at all for me the way I write which drags my hand across the paper.
On paper, it looks like a fountain pen was used.
The blue ink is a gorgeous color.
It is not so fine a point that it tears the paper and it is not so thick as to look blobby.
Feels great in the hand. Very comfortable.

THE CONS:
N O T H I N G! Perfect except I wish the black would be as smooth as the blue.

It writes smoothly and looks crisp and clean. I am a fan for life.

I started using these pens at the last company I worked for before I retired. There is not a better pen on the market, as far as I am concerned. It is incredibly smooth writing; it does not leak at all; it can be left open without drying out, the ink lasts forever; the gray part is soft and kind to your writing hand; and the circumference of the pen is kind to arthritic hands.

I love these pens! I have spent the last several years tracking them down and buying in bulk when I can. For a couple of different reasons, the thicker pen body and smooth writing make this pen more comfortable to use. Though I too prefer the blue, I have and use the black as well, and haven't noticed a difference in smoothness. :-)

These pens write so well. The ink flows evenly (there are never blobs of ink on the paper) even with light pressure. And since these pens contain a lot of ink, they last for a very long time.

I was happy to find these pens at Amazon.com. I used to buy these pens at office supply stores and suddenly I was unable to find identical pens at any of those stores.
