Product Description

From the Manufacturer

Ready to give yourself an added layer of protection against identity theft? The Fellowes P-5+ reduces your personal documents down to 1/4"-wide shredded bits that keep your information where it should be-private. The 9"-wide shredder mouth easily accommodates business documents and bills, allowing up to five sheets at a time pass through. You can make up to 20 passes per day, with a final daily capacity of 100 sheets.

Included with the FS-5+ model is a compact 3.5-gallon container that fits snuggly under the shredder, but also allows you to bypass the shredder to easily drop non-confidential items directly in the basket, saving you time and conserving energy. Automatic starting and stopping allows you to operate the shredder with a single hand, while the reverse function prevents paper jams or accidental shredding. Fellowes provides a one-year warranty covering parts and service.

1.0 out of 5 stars It just doesn't do the job, September 10, 2004
This product doesn't shred properly. Pieces of paper remain connected at the end, and the blades don't seem to be cutting properly. It also has trouble sensing thin pieces of paper like receipts. I can not do work with a product that works like this. In addition, the strips are very wide. I believe it's worth doing the research to end up with a shredder that works better than this.

1.0 out of 5 stars Keep searching, January 16, 2005
I realize that this shredder comes with a bottom of the barrel price, but even for $19, one would expect that it would at least perform the functions claimed on the box - it doesn't. It is a piece of junk. It doesn't sense paper when inserted, it keeps spinning indefinitely after shredding because the paper doesn't fall completely from the shredder, and it simply does a horrible job shredding and leaves nearly intact sheets at the bottom of the bin.

This is certainly one of the cheapest shredders out there, I am not sure you could beat the cost, but spend a few more bucks and get one that actually works. Fellowes really should be ashamed of themselves for this model. I spent about $20 more on the Royal VF700 and love it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Cheap Piece of Junk, June 30, 2005
You get what you pay for. I thought I could use the cheapest shredder since I wouldn't be using it heavily, just to shred a few pages a day, and not everyday. Well, after a couple months, it got jammed and then all of sudden it died. I wish I spent a few more bucks for a better shredder which would have been cheaper in the long run.

3.0 out of 5 stars It's not bad
But $40 for a five-sheet cap is too much. Esp. considering it doesn't actually take five sheets. More like three.

1.0 out of 5 stars Piece of junk!

Buy carefully, This model only has one other review, but other Fellowes shredders have terrible reviews. I bought a Royal and have been very happy.
