I saw the previous comments and thought I'd add my two cent's worth. This is a good lens and provides for better photography, but check out Sea life's website before buying. This lens is NOT recommended for the DC1400 or DC800 cameras. The website says if you mount this lens on these cameras, the photos will vignette (darkening around the edges of the photos.) If you're looking to expand the photo angle, get the FISHEYE wide angle lens.

This lens is proprietary for Sealife cameras. It does increase your field of view by 50% and easily snaps on and off your Sealife camera underwater. This is critical, as you will get a blurry line of bubble if you don't release all the air between the lens and camera. On some of the Sealife models, there is a convenient `lens dock' where you can temporarily slide your lens into and keep it firmly attached. This 24-mm lens is of high quality optical glass but there are only two issues that troubled me. There is a rubber gasket or ring around the outside of the lens that is thin and loosely attached. Its use is not readily apparent. The big problem I found that although you get 50% more image, you also get rounded black corners, giving the look of your photo or video like it was shot through a telescope. I'd recommended viewing one in person before buying it. It is of good quality.

The descriptions states that this lens is good for "...all Sealife Digital cameras.." This is not true, It will not fit the Sealife Micro HD+ (which, by the way, IS a digital camera.) Wish I had known this before embarking on my dive trip to Bonaire!

The lens, as advertised, fit my camera. I was a bit surprised as I have an older, not so fancy Sealife. but the lens fit. And it does fisheye shots. There are black corners on the finished shot which can be cropped out if you remember this when setting the shot. the lens is quite heavy, so do recommend purchasing the holder attachment for the bottom of the camera housing.

It took me a while to figure out how to attach the lens to the camera. Once I did that I was surprised to see that pictures have rounded corners that require cropping. Maybe I'm not using the lens correctly but so far that's what I've discovered. I'm not an expert by any means.
