2.0 out of 5 stars One of his weakest, March 12, 2005
By Jim M. (Springfield MA) - See all my reviews

Godard is one of the most important figures in world cinema. Because of that, you may be tempted to pick up KEEP YOUR RIGHT UP based on his name alone.

I would advise against that.

It really is one of his weakest films. Billed as a tribute to Tati, it isn't in the least bit funny or entertaining. It is honestly a chore to get through.

For completists, it is worth seeing to see that the JLG of the 80's was a far cry from that of the 60's, but for the casual filmgoer, pick up one of his earlier films, or one of the many great books on or by him.

Having seen most of his films, KEEP YOUR RIGHT UP is one of his lesser films.
