Part of my job is to keep lots and lots and lots of "signed" documents for recording purpose. (can't be electric filed) Those are stuff that nobody ever looks at unless something seriously wrong happened. That is why it's perfect for this binder.... because nobody ever needs to flip through them. If you need a view binder, I wouldn't recommend those at all.

It's a huge binder, like really heavy and holds lots of paper. It holds paper fine, as long as you don't flip through them. If you do, the paper would fall through the ring and came lose. Also, if you say flip through like 20 pages of paper at once, the ring couldn't hold the "weight" of the paper and it would open and all the pages would come off the ring.

so.. yea, it works as long as you don't flip through the paper....

I guess I should have give it one more star for size. This joker is huge! Now I understand why the hole is in the center. You need to use it to grip. The rings could be thicker metal. Doesn't lock tight. The plus is, if you need a big 6 inch binder....look no further. Not bad...just tooo big to be practical..

I bought this binder because I thought it would be more heavy duty and stand up a bit better than the cheap-o binders....but it isn't that special. Like some other users have stated, the binder already came with indentations from the rings during shipping, but as I have used it since then, it has continued to get worse.
This product really isn't worth how much more they are charging for it.....I'm sure there are better options out there.

This binder did not survive a single week of regular use. I do place above-average load on my binders, but I certainly expect them to last more than a week. The bottom locking ring no longer aligns and the close switch will not stay in the locked position.

I would not recommend this binder for anything but the lightest of archival duties. Under no circumstances should it be utilized in an environment where it will encounter physical stress.

I purchased the 6" variant of this binder.

I've tried numerous 3-ring binders because I use them when I conduct classroom training. I travel extensively doing my training courses, and the binders get a lot of use.

These are just fair. The cardboard in the cover is certainly not heavy duty and I don't get the kind of wear from them that I need.

I've settled on the Avery Dennison Heavy Duty EZD Reference binders because their covers are much stiffer and the binders hold up well. They're also much less expensive than the Cardinal brand. What's not to like?

Cardinal used to be a primo brand. Not any longer, in my experience.

I bought this because it is just really hard to find a notebook this big, especially without spending an absolute fortune. I used it for student teaching and was putting most everything in Avery sheet protectors. The rings in the binder were farther apart than the holes on the sheet protectors or any papers. It is not so far off that it was unusable, it just made it really hard to turn the pages (which really stinks when you're trying to flip through a 6 inch binder). The rings did not always line up properly upon closing and the piece at the bottom that locks the rings closed would not lock. If I were buying another binder this size, I would look elsewhere.

The front cover had a inch long slice in the plastic. Also one of the D-rings opens slightly as you flip pages and you have to keep resetting the page. This is not a cheap price to pay for a binder but obviously low quality

Overall, this massive binder is good. If you want something to hold an extensive amount of papers for a thesis or old coursework which you occasionally reference, it is perfect. If you use this day to day, it might not prove as durable as one would like over time. As advertised the ring openers do not have the red gel tab that all smaller models do, and it seems to be a bit wider than need be.

If you need this to hold occasionally referenced materials, perfect. If you intend to use it often, perhaps go with two of the smaller models which are more compact, have the red gel tab, as well as better inside pockets.
