This is a remaster of an older album released somewhere around 1992.
This version includes the five bonus tracks one of which is an extended version.

Another bonus is the contributions from Albert Collins on "The Blues Is Alright" and B.B. King on "Since I Met You Baby."
So a few blues legends stopped by "after hours" to jam. How cool is that?

Here are a few quick impressions on some of the songs that I like the most on "After Hours":

"Cold Day In Hell" is the leadoff track and it sets the pace for a very good cd.
Gary Moore added a horn section,a piano, and backgound singers to accent his blistering lead guitar on this track. The vocals make this seem like it should be his "signature" song.

"Since I Met You Baby" stands out for the guitar playing style and vocals shared by Moore and B.B. King. The quip from B.B King at the end of the song ("You Tell em' Gary") gives a glimpse into the working relationship between the two. This is a terrific song and one of the best that Gary Moore did in my opinion. There a few You Tube videos with these two performing together and the comraderie was evident and even entertaining.

"Only Fool In Town" tears it up right out of the gate. It's more of a hard rock inspired blues tune. The lead licks are screamers! There is a horn section backing it up and the vocals are great! "There's something about that woman." "You can take it from me, you're not the only fool in town."

"Jumpin' At Shadows" is another well-done slow ballad that Gary Moore seemed to perform on every blues cd that I have listened to. The choice of notes and when to use them makes this a beautiful song! This is what I would call a "blues ballad". Penned by Duster Moore and performed Gary Moore style.

This is by far my favorite blues CD from Gary Moore. I love the additon of horns, and with Albert Collins and B.B. King as guests, need I say more? Moore's guitar playing is nothing short of phenominal. Everything just comes together on this release. There are also (5) bonus tracks on this remastered copy. A real must for the Gary Moore fan and blues afficiando.

Fun and fantastic blues that show how well Gary Moore could play the blues. The sheer fact that B.B. King played with him asc well as Albert King, Jack Bruce, Greg Lake, George Harrison, Bob Dailey, Neil Carter, Glenn Hughes,Phil Lynott,Neil Redding, on and on showed how beloved he was all over the world, except America. It is classy at times and gritty on other occasions.if you love the guitar buy this and if you don't like it than you should go back to your drab and monochromatic pathetic life beneath your slimy rock and remain there.

I used to think that Rory Gallagher was the only Irish bluesman of note, until my brother-in-law introduced me to Gary Moore. Rory is still king (in Stevie Ray territory when it comes to his best work) but Gary Moore should be better known stateside. Guest appearances from BB King and Albert Collins (a very obvious influence) attest to Moore's respect among his peers.
This is a great solid blues album with some terrific fretwork from Mr. Moore, and very accomplished singing as well. The songs, mostly penned by Moore, follow the great 12 bar blues tradition. Nothing new here, and sometimes that's refreshing. There are a couple of songs that venture away from Blues into rock/pop (particularly "Nothing's The Same"), but that just makes for a more interesting overall listen. If you're even just a casual fan of the blues, you're sure to enjoy this fine album.

Gary Moore is one of those unsung guitar heroes, of which we have far too many of in this world. His guitar playing is impeccable; all one has to do is listen to his great "I've Still Got The Blues (For You)" to understand and appreciate the fluidity and soaring guitar licks. He is truly a master at his craft, but a guitarist nonetheless that hasn't had much airplay, for whatever reason.

If you love good guitar work, ala Clapton, Vaughn, you will also love the work of Gary Moore.

This is a truly great cd. I wore out a copy of this on cassette (what's a cassette?) when it first came out. I have a copy of it on cd. A friend heard my copy of it and liked it, so I ordered this copy for my friend. I arrived in perfect new condition. Shipping was very quick. The price was very reasonable. It showcases Gary Moore's talents and abilities very well. It helped me to learn how to play guitar. Sorry Gary had to check out before I had to a chance to see him live. I have never heard anyone who plays like Gary Moore. Joe Bonnamassa now plays Gary's song "midnight blues" as a part of his live show, and does a great job, but it's not Gary. Sad that Gary is gone, but we still have "after hours" to listen to, and hear him at the top of his game.
