Game Informer Review

It's a shooter! It's a stealth game! It's a driving game! Amazingly, Everything or Nothing does all of these things, and (not so surprisingly) does none of them very well. I'm not a big proponent of the isometric view, and marrying it to sloppy stealth-style gameplay only exacerbates the problem. It's sort of hard to plan your next move when you can only see about 10 virtual feet in front of you, and as a result it's usually easier to just run and gun your way through the levels. It's sort of neat that they tried to incorporate driving into the mix, but it's a bad version of the old Spy Hunter at best. I like the numerous gadgets and upgrades you can buy for your Bond, and the multiplayer functionality; but really – why put expensive rims on a 1991 Hyundai?

Product Description

Think like Bond, choosing to accomplish missions with utmost stealth, all-out action, or a combination of both. Act like Bond, using your stylish maneuvers, Q-Lab gadgets, and bold personality to once again save the world. With every Bond moment played out in an all-new, third-person isometric perspective, this action-packed adventure could only come from the world of James Bond. What would Bond do? What will you do?

A Kid's Review
This is the COOLEST! not only that, but realistic! in the Peruvian Jungle, you can hear the birds!

pros. lots of gadgets and weapons, realistic, 4-in-one, Black jack, etc.

cons.no Q-spider, or anything in the PS2 version, and you dont see through the eyes of Bond.

Strongly recommended!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Bond for GBA, December 10, 2003
By Kal (Georgia, USA) - See all my reviews
True, there is not much competition, but 007: Everything or Nothing is the best 007 game for the Game Boy. In his latest mission, Bond must track a madman (portayed by Willem Dafoe) who's goal is world domination (gee, imagine that). Prodigy of the late Max Zorin (who appeared in A View to A Kill) and an ex-KGB agent, Nikolai Diavolo has stolen a nanobot project and is equipping an army of nanobot-covered soliers. The nanobots eat metal so quickly, they can eat incoming gunfire before they touch the soldier.
And if you thought the invisible car from "Die Another Day" was rediculous, Diavolo has also developed a cloaking device which temporarily makes his soldiers invisible.
The game is played from a third-person perspective, like the future console versions. The controls are basic (A to shoot, B for punches, stealth attacks, and actions) and easy to learn. There are also parts of missions where you will have to sit behind the wheel of your Aston Martin Vanquish (minus the invisibility capability) fully-equipped with machine guns, rockets, and oil slicks. The rocket aiming is a tad bit disappointing and difficult to hit smaller targets.
Unlike some previous games, Everything or Nothing encourages you to use stealth versus going in with guns ablazing. When you take out someone using stealth, you get points that you can spend in the Q-Lab to buy things that increase your speed, aiming, body armor, and the effectiveness of your bullets. Other items include medkits and nanobots that recharge your life after time.
The graphics are excellent, though some characters, like Q, don't look like themselves. Other than that, the death animations and explosions look about as good as they can get on the Game Boy Advance.
The sound is equally excellent. In the credits, even, Mya's song has been transferred to the portable cartridge and can be heard clearly. Gunshots sound like gunshots as opposed to "blips" that have occured in past games (in general).

However, this game's downfall is the relatively short life of it. It took me an afternoon to complete the missions and then another to get all the power-ups from the Q-Lab. The difficulty level can be changed to "Hard" and thus increases the lasting appeal a little, but not by much. If you feel you can shoot through these sorts of games in a day, perhaps you'd be better off renting it.
Otherwise, it is fun to obtain the maximum number of points. There's even a blackjack mini-game you can unlock after getting 2500 points.
All in all, Bond has successfully made his mark on the Game Boy.
